Hi, I'm Jen! I started photographing dogs (and cats) at a local Humane Society in 2016. I also do paid sessions every so often.

HeARTs Speak Artist member, volunteer rescue photographer and winner of Omaha Magazine's 'Best of Omaha 2025 & 2026 Pet Photography', rabbit foster mom 🐇 & children's book author The more I photographed, the more I fell in love with it and the better I got. Continuing to donate my time and focus on finding the homeless animals their forever families is my primary goal at the moment. Hi, friends. It's Walter. You'll never believe what foster mom did to me yesterday. First, she threw me into a bubble backpack, then tossed me in the car and drove me away!! We went to some place called The Rose Theater to represent Hops + Co before the show called "Bunnicula". Then she put me in a small pen, I barely had room to move around and then...all these people came in and started petting me!! It was terrible! All I could do was sit there while foster mom smiled and talked to the people about me, how rude!!

But the worst part was when she shared MY TREATS WITH ANOTHER RABBIT!! HOW DARE SHE!!! I was sitting there starving and she just gave them away!!! I'll never forgive her. I hope my new family comes to get me soon and that they'll never put me through this again. Worst. Day. EVER.

Last night, I met up with some dear friends of mine. Mandy, Fox and Derek have two disabled dogs, Scout and Ollie, plus THREE more incredibly sweet dogs: Millie the Pug, Kane the Pouty Pittie and Kenzie the Senior girl. Somehow we managed to get all five dogs in one photo with three humans. They're such a great family and you can tell that each dog is so well loved and I'm so grateful they reached out for photos. As you can tell, aiming directly down at a dog is one of my favorite shots to take and each dog nailed theirs!!

Walter will be going on a foster-to-adopt in about a week. So, we had a photo shoot last night! He was not very cooperative, but we still got a few good ones. I'm really going to miss this little man, I've grown very fond of him. I know his future family is going to take the best care of him and I hope he's a good boy to his future bun partner, Honey Bun. When you kind of want to take a nap, but your paws also need to be cleaned. What a dilemma to have for a little house bun, eh? Walter is the epitome of cute 🥹😍

If you're looking for help in the kitchen, Walter is your guy. Foster Dad was making a sammich and Walter thought it was for him. Have I mentioned how much this boy loves food?! It's A LOT.

Walter FINALLY figured out the stacking cups! I've been putting treats in each cup with the goal of him unstacking them to get the treats out, but he would just roll them around with his nose. Today, it clicked! He's so smart and so sassy, I ❤️ him!

Layla!! This sweet senior turned 17 this month. Even though she is mostly deaf and mostly blind, she still gets around really well. She walked on a leash, smelled all the smells and was a very good girl for photos. It's obvious she has fantastic owners and is so well loved. Christian, his Grandma and his Aunt Dawn all spoke so highly of this lady.

Yesterday, I met up with my dear friend, Christian and his service dog, Coco. Christian is 26 and has Cerebral Palsy. Coco has been his service dog for the last year. He adopted her from NHS after she was found as a stray. He says that she licks him whenever he feels nervous or anxious to help calm him down. She also comforts him by applying deep pressure to help him relax. "I have never had a dog like her that is naturally in tune with my needs."

I met Christian a few years ago at the Omaha Corgi Races while working for DogGurt and we became almost instant friends. I can see his deep love for animals just like me! He is kind, compassionate and a truly incredible human being. I know he gets nervous around new people and new situations, but I have also seen his confidence grow so much since getting Coco. I wanted to share their true bond with everyone because it touches my heart. He is an inspiration to me and I hope he knows how much our friendship means to me. So, if you see him and Coco at a local animal event or the Omaha Dog Bar, make sure you tell him how freaking awesome he is!
