Getting married at San Francisco City Hall? Please don’t stop at City Hall.

It is a stunning place and you will get beautiful photos there. But most of my couples, especially the ones flying in, have no idea how many incredible locations sit just minutes away. This couple went to the Palace of Fine Arts to keep the elegant feel going. Others go for redwoods, gardens, or the beach.

Extending your shoot is the single easiest way to add depth and variety to your gallery. And it’s a reminder that this is still your wedding day. Eloping at City Hall doesn’t make it any smaller. 🤍

Happy anniversary to A and F!

This elopement in the Dolomites was definitely one I will never forget.

Just an absolutely stunning day from sunrise to sunset! The weather was perfect, vibes were amazing, so many amazing fun moments, and deep heartfelt perfect snippets throughout the day.

This will always be my favorite kind of day to document. Couples who lean heavily into making their Wedding day something that’s perfect for them. Going to a place you always wanted to go to. Doing activities you love doing together or have always had on your bucket list. And just being together in love.

That’s what your Wedding day should look like! Two people, absolutely in love, having the absolute best day of their lives.

A huge HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to M and M! 🤍

I cannot believe a year ago we were paddling around on beautiful little row boats in the middle of a foggy, cold lake in Italy. What an incredible adventure that was.

Honestly, I wish more people knew that your wedding day can look like whatever you want it to look like. If you want the big church wedding, then you should absolutely do that. But it is not for everyone.

So many of my couples want to make their day about doing something they have always dreamed of, being together all day long, and saying their vows and sharing their most intimate moments somewhere beautiful and private, where it does not feel like a show. And that is okay too.

It is actually exactly what I am planning for my own wedding right now!

Your moment deserves to feel like yours!

Go and do the thing you actually want to do. And you can always come home and throw a party afterward if that feels right to you.

This is your day, so do what you want to do. 🤍

34 Wild Wedding Venues Where Your Whole Guest List Can Come!

I built this blog because I hear ALL THE TIME, “I really wanted to do an adventure elopement, but I couldn’t do that to my family!”

Here’s the fantasy, and I know it well because couples describe it to me almost word for word.

It’s early. The light is doing something amazing. You’re standing somewhere stunning, a ridgeline or a slot canyon or a stand of redwoods, and it is completely, perfect just the two of you. Just the quiet of an absolutely incredible place!

And here’s the other fantasy, which is also yours, even though the internet keeps insisting you have to trade one for the other.

It’s dark now. There are string lights. Your college roommate is giving a speech that’s gone off the rails in the best way. Your dad is dancing badly. Your grandmother is sitting at a table with a drink, watching all of it, and she is there. Not on a FaceTime call. Not looking at photos three weeks later. There.

Many couple I talk to wants both of these. Almost every couple has been told, somewhere along the way, that they have to pick.
You don’t. Not if you choose the right place.

How “Both” Actually Works
The trick isn’t a compromise. It’s a choosing the right venue.
When you get married at a venue that has real lodging on the property, your wedding stops being a five-hour block and becomes a weekend. And a weekend has room for two completely different ceremonies of the same marriage.

This beautiful couple got married on Mars. OK, maybe not really. But it definitely felt that way!!

Seriously, though, this spot felt otherworldly. Just such a crazy landscape, wandering through all of the narrow slot canyons, and climbing around this wild world.

I love scoping out incredible locations like this. I’ve always been a big hiker and love exploring!

Happy anniversary C & M!

This elopement in Yosemite was such an incredible day! From sunrise to after the stars were filling the sky, we explored this beautiful park.

This couple did one of my favorite things, in fact it’s what I’m doing for my own wedding, they chose to have an intimate adventure elopement with just the two of them.

To say their vows somewhere spectacular where the only ears that could hear them were each other‘s. They spent a whole day together just in each other‘s company. And then later, on a different day, they had a big celebration with all their friends and family.

This is exactly what I’m doing because I think it gives you the best of both worlds. It gives you that moment to be alone together and truly present for all of those special intimate moments of sharing your heart with each other. And then later, getting to celebrate with all of your friends and family and bringing them in. ❤️

A huge happy anniversary to H & J!

This elopement in Mykonos, Greece was so incredibly epic! It was hot, it was windy, it was perfect.

From starting the day in they’re absolutely stunning hotel, to exploring those narrow white washed streets of downtown Mykonos, to absolutely battling H’s veil every moment of the day, to cocktails, to boat rides, to vows on the beach, to swimming in the water fully clothed. Nothing could’ve made it more perfect!!

Here is something I wish more couples knew.

You can get those wedding photos you’re dreaming of any time!

Anniversary sessions, vow renewals, and just because portraits exist for exactly this reason!
If you never got the images you wanted, or you never got them at all, you are allowed to change that.

One year in or twenty years in, your love is worth photographing beautifully. The door is always open, and I would be honored to be the one to open it with you.
