The World Cup ends today, and I am a few weeks removed from my coverage in Seattle.

Of the images that got picked up by outlets, very few were action shots. The ones that ran were the photos that carried the weight of the moment. A determined face. A celebration after a goal. The emotion after a tough loss. Emotion resonated more than athleticism did.

What stuck with me just as much was working alongside the other ISI Photos photographers. Different positions, different instincts and styles, same match. Watching how they read the action and the environment through their lens pushed me.

Covering a match like the World Cup is not about one photographer behind the lens. It is a team coordinating positions so the full story gets told, the ISI Photos staff handling credentials and media tickets, and the editors on the USA matches getting frames to the wire within minutes of capture.

Great tournament. Great group to work it with. It was an amazing experience and I am grateful for the opportunity to cover.
