Now Hiring for 2023 Season!
Serendipity Snapshots- Est. 2012- Trinity River, California
Experienced Photographer (Pay Dependent on Skill and amount of training required) 3-4 days/week
Part Time Office Help (Starts at $15.50/hour) 3-4 days/week
Serendipity Snapshots is a busy Whitewater Photography business that operates Memorial Day to Labor Day on the Trinity River. We are open every day during the summer months to capture all the action at a rapid called Hells Hole.
You will get paid to sit under the shade of a tree, by the river, and take photos all day. What could be better than that for a summer job!
This job is located in Big Flat on the Trinity River and is 1.5 hours away from Redding, and Arcata.
Photographer:
This is an excellent seasonal job for people with a skill in fast paced action photography and an interest in the outdoors.
You will be expected to provide our clientele with consistent high quality images.
For many that travel down the river on a commercial trip, this is a once in a lifetime adventure, and we only get one chance to capture these photos.
Camera is provided. You must have experience with action photography.
We shoot with a Canon7D markll.
Your day will start at 11:45 PM and end when the last boat floats through, which is anywhere from 4-5pm.
You must be available in June for hands on training.
Part Time Office Help
3-4 days/week
Work begins Friday, May 26th.
Training will be provided. Computer skills necessary. Knowledge of rafts and kayaks very helpful, but not necessary.
Greet customers, work with them to identify which raft/kayak they were in, then display their photos in a slideshow format on a monitor. Be prepared for laughs and endless smiles!
Office work entails downloading CF cards onto laptops, organizing and correctly labeling photos at a fast pace, and displaying photos to customers on monitors. We do not use Macs.
Familiarity with Square Point of Sale a plus, but not necessary.
Your day will typically start at 12pm or 1pm, and you must be prompt. You will need a working vehicle. Our busiest days happen to be the holidays, so be prepared to work Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July, and Labor Day Weekend.
Possibility for tips.
Camping can be provided at no charge for the right individual. Campsite is secure, and is shared with other outdoor industry individuals and has an outdoor kitchen, and shower.
This is an incredibly fun summer job, where you will meet people from all over the country, and be a part of one of their best days ever!
As a photographer, you will be out in nature for 4-5 hours, and it's likely you will see bald eagles catching fish, otters, mink, and occasional bear sightings(don't worry, they are on the other side of the river). Strange river guide activity can be expected, and don't be surprised if you see them in costume any given day of the week.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Please submit your resume with your experience, and why you would like to be part of the Serendipity team!
Cheers,
Sara Harrison
