Most of you know that I co-own a Tour Company with my good friend Colin. Many of you have already joined us on a tour and we thank you and hope you will join us again soon.
As a tour operator our prices are decided one to two years in advance.
We are constantly monitoring the value of the US dollar to foreign currencies as most of our tours are international. This directly impacts the cost of our tours. The graphs I have added show the value of the dollar to the Euro, New Zealand dollar, Namibian dollar and Icelandic Krona over the past year. These are the countries we run tours to almost every year. This is not AI. The numbers do not lie. Please research them for yourselves if you think I'm putting a spin on them. I will let you determine why the US dollar is crashing.
We lost a considerable amount of money last year due to the dollar's decline and stand to lose even more this year if this trend continues.
I am currently in Ghana with my friend Nick photographing wildlife. Most of the lodging we are staying at have TV's with multiple news cast from Africa, Europe and Arabia. We have zero US news influence here. The general consensus from all foreign news outlets is that the US has become untrustworthy both politically and financially. They are scrambling to find new trade partners and new allies other than the US. It has also been reported that many countries are boycotting American products. Most of you know I am politically neutral and quite frankly appalled by politics. For those of you planning to travel in the near future I thought you should know what is happening outside the US.
Having said that.
There has been no hostility towards me as an American whatsoever in the 14 countries I have traveled in recently. Most people have enough common sense not to hold normal people responsible for their governments actions.
Just thought you should know
Mike
