As of February 1, 2026 I am no longer affiliated with flat run speedway in Morrisdale, PA. This page will remain active. Anybody wishing to order of any pictures posted here message me. All orders will be shipped.

𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐬. 𝐆𝐞𝐚𝐫

A lot of today's photography focus is put on "What type of camera are you using?". While yes, to some extent, gear matters - photography as a whole has nothing to do with cameras.

Photography: The word itself, derived from Greek, means "drawing with light".

Everyone that takes a photograph, is expressing how they see something in a split second, for a moment in time, to be spoken about for time in the future and that doesn't matter what "camera" or gear you are using at that specific time.

𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝘽𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧 -
Gear can help you get from point a to point b, but gear is not the "main" thing to focus on as a beginner. Beginner photographers need to learn and focus on 3 key concepts in photography: Light Triangle, Photo Composition Techniques, and lots of practice!

If I was starting in photography as a beginner, these are the things I would highly recommend I learn first and in that order, long before I even consider what camera is best for x, y, and z.

At age 15, I never even considered Motorsports as the avenue I would eventually transition into shooting. I learned photography because I had a passion for being creative, capturing life, my pets, sports, and documenting history in the small town I grew up of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (the turning point of the Civil War).

💡Looking back, what is one thing you wish you would have focused on, as a beginner photographer?
