Mrauk_U, Myanmar
This photograph was taken during sunset in Mrauk-U, an ancient archaeological city in Rakhine State, Myanmar, often known for its historic temples and peaceful landscapes.
I captured this image from inside an old temple tunnel, using the archway to frame the ancient pagodas silhouetted against the fading evening sky. As the sun disappeared beyond the horizon, the warm orange glow slowly spread across the landscape while a soft layer of mist settled around the temples, creating a calm and timeless atmosphere.
What drew me to this scene was the feeling of standing between darkness and light ? inside the shadowed structure while looking outward toward the last light of the day. The quietness of Mrauk-U at sunset felt almost surreal, as if the ancient city had paused in time for a moment.
For me, this photograph represents both the beauty and resilience of Myanmar?s cultural heritage. I wanted to capture not only the scenery itself, but also the emotion and serenity that Mrauk-U carries within its centuries-old temples and history.
