There’s been a development in sis’s health: she’s been referred to a doctor in D.C. who specializes in treating complex chronic Lyme cases. Though we’re sad that she can no longer receive the treatment she needs here in Birmingham, she’s extremely hopeful that this doctor will have the knowledge to treat her more effectively! After a decade of unexplained suffering, I finally received a diagnosis of chronic late-stage Lyme disease, but my battle is far from over. Unchecked Lyme has wreaked havoc on my body, attacking my organs and central nervous system. The good news is that it's treatable, but the cost of my care is extremely high, and insurance won't cover any of it. I humbly reach out to my community, hoping for your donations to support my treatment and help me get my life back.

Lyme disease has devastated my life, forcing me to give up my active lifestyle, close my photography business, and endure the heartbreak of a miscarriage. Despite visiting 23 specialists and enduring numerous hospital stays, I only recently received a diagnosis of chronic late-stage Lyme disease with multiple co-infections, making treatment even more challenging.

My current diagnoses include neurological Lyme, Lyme encephalitis, adrenal insufficiency, Crohn's disease, PCOS, and PANS/PANDAS. To manage my symptoms and fight the infection, I take 36 daily medications and receive weekly IV therapies. After nearly a year of treatment, my condition has started to improve, but I need more aggressive care to make further progress.

I experience debilitating symptoms every day, including excruciating pain, migraines, overwhelming fatigue, vision issues, sound sensitivity, muscle spasms, tics, gastrointestinal problems, rashes, reactive hypoglycemia, short-term memory loss, OCD, and tachycardia. Coping with these symptoms has made leading a normal life nearly impossible.

The cost of Lyme treatment is astronomical – the average patient spends $30,000 per year. My husband and I sold our house to help pay for my treatment, but a year later, we're out of savings, bills are piling up, and I need more aggressive care. I've made some progress, but I can't go any further without your help.

I'm asking my community to help me pay for the care I need. Your donations will make a significant difference in my journey toward health. I know our goal is high, but that's how much it will cost for me to access the treatments I need to get healthy. With your support, we can help me get my life back.
