Through the spring we have journeyed more than 1,500 miles across 20 Alabama counties to locate, visit, and photograph sites of Native American habitation and removal for our latest project, “Where You Come From is Gone.” We are excited to share the work — get a sneak peek of our process with this film by Jason Wallis, featuring music by Wooden Wand.

And please join us tomorrow night – Friday, July 7, 6-8pm – for the opening of our exhibition at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment’s North Floor Gallery. The show runs through Aug. 25. We are also very excited to have work from the project selected for Huntsville Museum of Art's 2017 Red Clay Survey, also opening this weekend in Huntsville, that runs through October 1.

We are excited to share our newest body of work, Where You Come From is Gone, with this short film by our longtime friend Jason Wallis. Accompanying the film is the song Mallow T'ward the River, from Wooden Wand 's latest album, Clipper Ship.

FOTOFILMIC17 ENTRANT QUOTE

"Unlike most contemporary images which privilege control, clarity, detail, and objectivity, we embrace the unpredictable variables in making a tintype, finding both meaning and metaphor through the medium’s inconsistencies and flaws”
