Community.
Something I didn’t know I needed until I found it. And honestly? I still can’t really put words to how it feels.
I grew up pretty isolated. It was mostly just my family until college. Then I moved to Bismarck and found my people. And once I did, I realized how much I’d been craving it. So I hope I’m always creating some form of community in everything I do. 🫶
Earlier this year I planned a dinner and things totally fell through. But Nurtured Home, LLC said “let’s do it anyway and have fun.” Soooo we did. ND + Destination Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer | Dayna Brilz came over to photograph it and brought Kaitlyn Jessen — North Dakota Wedding + Family Photographer, and we all just sat around sharing how our lives were going. It wasn’t what I planned, but boy did that night feel special 🤎
Because when it comes down to it, we all crave connection. Hugs. Hellos. “How are you REALLY”
And yes, what I create, the actual photos, mostly lives online. But the process of getting there feels way more important. It’s you sitting across from me and hearing that you belong. That you’re a part of something amazing. That what you’re building is making a difference in this community.
That’s the story I want to keep telling… At dinners like this one. In every session. And now on my brand new website that launched today, which honestly feels like a little piece of all of this finally out in the world.
So thankful for every single one of you. 🤎
