There is something so sacred about these early days.

The tiny fingers wrapped around yours. The way they fit perfectly against your chest. The sleepy stretches, soft sighs, and the overwhelming love that fills every corner of your home.

This sweet girl was an absolute angel for her entire session, and watching her parents soak in every moment was such a beautiful reminder of just how quickly this season passes. The way Mom and Dad looked at her said everything—completely, hopelessly, and beautifully in love.

Newborn sessions are about so much more than photos. They’re about preserving the details you’ll want to remember forever but may already be forgetting as the days blur together. These images become tangible reminders of how tiny they were, how deeply you loved them, and how your family began this new chapter.

The newborn stage is fleeting, but the memories don’t have to be.

Younger me spent years hoping for the chance to be someone’s mom. After a long journey through infertility, my husband and I finally welcomed our daughter into the world. And even during the hardest parenting moments, when I’m running on caffeine and patience is in short supply, I remind myself: younger me would have given anything to have this exact problem. ❤️

And professionally? Younger me would be absolutely amazed. The business I once dreamed about is now filled with incredible clients who trust me to preserve some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. That responsibility is something I never take for granted.

It’s funny how we spend so much time chasing the next goal that we forget to stop and look around at the life we’ve already built.

So here’s your reminder (and mine): take a second today to appreciate how far you’ve come. The version of you from five, ten, or fifteen years ago would probably be doing a happy dance.

And if you’re currently living through the chapter you once hoped for, even if it’s messy, exhausting, or covered in Goldfish crumbs... that’s pretty amazing.

There’s just something magical about summer family sessions 🌿☀️

The longer evenings, warm breezes, and lush mountain views make the perfect backdrop for capturing this season of life—especially when your family is growing.

This sweet family of three (almost four!) spent their session doing exactly what I hope every family does: slowing down, soaking in the moment, and loving on each other. There were plenty of giggles, sweet snuggles, and those little in-between moments that remind you what it’s all about.

One of my favorite things about summer sessions is how easy they feel. Kids can run barefoot through the grass, parents can relax, and everyone gets to enjoy being together instead of worrying about staying warm or rushing through the session.

And when your family is about to welcome a new little one? These moments become even more meaningful. 💛

One of the biggest things parents tell me before their session is: “We’re nervous our baby won’t cooperate.”

Let me gently reassure you right now—you do not need a “perfect” baby for beautiful newborn photos 🤍

Your session is completely baby-led.
That means we pause when your baby needs to feed, cuddle, settle, or simply be held a little longer. There is never any rushing or pressure.

Some babies sleep the entire session.
Some want extra snuggles.
Some need breaks every few minutes.

And every bit of that is completely normal.

As a photographer specifically trained in newborn photography, your baby’s safety and comfort are always my highest priority. Every pose, every transition, and every setup is done carefully and gently, always following your baby’s cues.

More than anything, I want your session to feel calm.

There’s something incredibly special about documenting a couple’s journey into parenthood from the very beginning 🤍

I first had the privilege of photographing this sweet couple for their pregnancy announcement photos back in December — the images they chose for their holiday card were absolutely beautiful. And now, seeing them again for their maternity session in my studio felt like such a full-circle moment.

Their love for each other is so genuine and effortless, and this session was pure magic from start to finish.

I especially love that they chose a timeless jeans-and-white-tshirt look for part of their session. Simple, classic, and completely focused on the connection between them and the anticipation of meeting their baby.

My studio’s soft natural light created the dreamiest atmosphere for these portraits — no harsh flash, just beautiful light that feels organic, airy, and flattering.

These are the moments that remind me why I love maternity photography so much. Being invited into such a meaningful season of someone’s life is truly an honor.

And the best part? I get to see them again for their newborn session in just a few months, and I already know it’s going to be so special.
