Chelsea Tischler is an award-winning photographer based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Since childhood, Chelsea has traveled extensively – to more than 40 countries on all seven continents. Throughout her travels, she became increasingly fascinated by nature, wildlife, and different cultures, all which inspired a profound interest in photography. Chelsea is a stock photographer and has rights-mana

ged representation with Gallery Stock. Major magazine publications include Rangefinder, PDN, Newsweek, Town & Country, Luxury, Parents, Wells Fargo Conversations, Capital (Germany), Myself (Germany), Elle (France), and major commercial licensing includes Apple, Citibank, Hewlett Packard, Meda Pharmaceuticals and others. She has a growing portrait and wedding photography business in which she takes "magazine-style, magazine-quality" photographs of regular people. Her images are clean and bold, and are influenced heavily by her commercial and editorial work. "My ultimate goal is for my clients to feel like their images belong in a magazine". Chelsea's professional career began as a Mechanical Engineer for the US Environmental Protection Agency, but after a move to California, she took her career in a more creative direction and studied photography at the Brooks Institute. Now back in Michigan, Chelsea lives with her husband and 3-year-old daughter, who provide endless inspiration and support. Chelsea is a self-defined "travel-addict" and is learning Spanish in her free time. If you're interested in wildlife, Remembering Wildlife is an incredible organization raising money for wildlife conservation projects in different corners of the world. This year they are producing a stunning coffee-table book about bears and will contribute the profits to bear conservation projects. If you'd like to purchase a copy and support the organization, please visit the Kickstarter link below.

As it turns out, I learned yesterday that one of my polar bear images is a finalist to be included in this publication, so this is (possibly) exciting news!

I am so excited to see my work on the pages of Vanity Fair magazine! My photo of a leopard taken this past June near Sasaab camp in northern Kenya was licensed for print in today's release of the Italian edition.

Leopards are solitary cats and generally try to avoid contact with humans. For 10 days in Kenya we tried to find and photograph the elusive cats with no luck until the last 20 minutes of our very last game drive before heading back to the US. Our spotter found a female walking on the ground towards a pool of water. After stopping for a drink, she climbed up the tree and was surveying the vast acreage as I captured her portrait.

Happy World Elephant Day!

I visited this beauty at the Daphne Shelderick Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi in June. Isn’t she magnificent?

The organization does such incredible, difficult work to raise the orphans, often from infancy, and to prepare and release them back into the wild over the course of several years.

I am a firm believer that wild animals should be wild and not interact with humans, but honestly there really is nothing quite like being among the baby elephants.

Leopard in a tree, near Sasaab camp in the Westgate Community Conservancy, Kenya.

It was one of the best leopard sightings I’ve ever seen, so I made sure to capture it with 3 different Canon body/lens combinations for all types of angles, wide and tight. This one was with my 5DMarkIV and EF70-200Lf/2.8.

Unless you’re driving right next to the lions, they are incredibly difficult to spot in the tall yellow grass.

The giraffes are my daughter’s favorite safari animal, and on her birthday our guide spotted 30 individuals for her over the course of the morning.
