I’ve had so many different kinds of sessions lately, and I love seeing them all come together in one place. Maternity, newborns, families — every gallery has its own feel, its own little moments, and its own story.

I’m so thankful for how full this season has been and for every person who continues to choose me to capture it.

Maternity has definitely had a big piece of my calendar lately, and I’m not mad about it.

When Should You Book Your Maternity Session?

Pregnancy has a way of feeling slow and fast at the exact same time. In the beginning, it can feel like you have forever to plan everything, and then suddenly you’re in your third trimester wondering where the time went.

For maternity photos, I typically recommend scheduling your session somewhere between 28–34 weeks. By that point, your bump is usually nice and round, but you’re hopefully still comfortable enough to move around, walk, and actually enjoy your session.

The biggest thing I always tell expecting moms is not to wait until the last minute to book. My calendar fills months in advance, especially for golden hour and weekend dates, and I’m currently booking into 2027.

Booking early also gives us time to actually plan everything without feeling rushed. We can talk about location, outfits, the overall vibe you’re going for, and what will feel the most like you.

You only get this version of your story once. If maternity photos are something you know you want, get your date on the calendar early and give yourself one less thing to worry about later.

There’s something incredibly meaningful about photographing your newborn in the place where their story is actually beginning — at home.

Your nursery, your bedroom, the couch where you’ve spent hours feeding and rocking them, even the family pets wandering in and out of the room… those little pieces of everyday life become part of the memory.

In-home newborn sessions aren’t just about getting beautiful photos of your baby while they’re tiny. They’re about documenting what life looked and felt like during those first few weeks. The way they fit against your chest, the way their little hand wraps around your finger, the quiet moments between you and your partner, and the home you first brought them into.

Years from now, those familiar rooms may look completely different. You may move, redecorate, or barely remember how small they once looked lying on your bed. But the photographs will bring you right back.

That’s why I love lifestyle newborn sessions so much. You’re not just documenting your baby — you’re preserving the beginning of your family’s newest chapter.

This past week has really reminded me just how important photographs are. Life moves so quickly, our babies grow, seasons change, and before we know it, the moments that once felt so ordinary become the ones we wish we could go back to.

At the end of the day, photographs are what we get to hold onto. The tiny hands, the way they looked at you, the belly laughs, the chaos, the love — all of it.

So take the pictures. Get in the frame with your babies. Capture your family exactly as they are right now, because one day these photos will mean more than you ever realized they could.

This session was so special and emotional all at the same time. Finding out they’re expecting another sweet baby girl had me crying right along with them. 🥹🩷 This little girl is already so incredibly loved, and I feel so lucky to have captured such a beautiful moment for their family.

My bestie came to visit from Florida, and of course we planned family photos, hoping for the most beautiful sunset… instead, we got one of the biggest storms I’ve ever photographed in.

But somehow, it felt right.

Life hasn’t always been sunshine for us. We’ve walked through some incredibly hard seasons together, and she’s been there through more than she probably knows. So if there was ever a session that deserved dramatic skies, pouring rain, and a little chaos, it was this one.

These photos will always remind me that even in the middle of the storm, there was laughter, friendship, and memories I’ll never forget.

So thankful to have a friend like you. I truly wouldn’t want to do this season of motherhood with anyone else… or have anyone else feeding into my anxiety and then talking me back down five minutes later. 😂
