Photographer Joseph Nicéphore Niépce died on this day, July 5th, in 1833.

Niépce is shown here alongside his image "View from the Window at Le Gras" which he produced in 1826 or 1827 (his record keeping was not great 🙄)

This heliographic image is the world's oldest surviving camera photograph, with Niépce often being credited as the inventor of photography.
