Floods Photography | A Timeless Family Session at the Hayes Presidential Library

There are places that carry a quiet charm, where history, nature, and love for family all converge. The Hayes Presidential Library and Home in Fremont, Ohio offered exactly that backdrop for our latest family photo shoot — and what a beautiful session it was.

From the very first frame, we knew this would be special.

The early evening light filtered through the tall trees lining the historic grounds, casting a golden hue that gently wrapped around each moment. The stately architecture of the Hayes home, with its timeless character, added elegance without ever overwhelming the genuine warmth of the family we were capturing.

The Art of Color and Composition
At Floods Photography, we pay close attention to detail — not just in what we shoot, but in how we frame it. This session gave us a palette that was rich yet grounded. Deep greens from the surrounding gardens, warm stone textures of the home, and the family’s well-coordinated outfits created a stunning harmony. Every image felt like a painting: balanced, natural, and vibrant with life.

Whether it was the soft pastels in the children’s attire or the contrast of darker tones worn by the parents, the color story of this shoot elevated the final gallery. Compositionally, we made use of both wide shots to showcase the historic scenery and close-ups that brought out the emotion in every shared glance and smile.
