Latest work with FAU Department of Theatre & Dance go support, opening Friday 21, 2020!!!

It's happening this week!!!! This Friday the FAU Department of Theatre and Dance opens The Provoked Wife! This is one you don't want to miss!

In this timely, forward-thinking Restoration comedy, we meet Lady Brute and her husband, the over-sexed and drunken Sir John Brute. Provoked by their loveless marriage, Lady Brute finds solace in the arms of a younger man but, when solace and spice threaten to turn into scandal, Lady Brute does all she can to protect her happiness. In true Restoration style, this satirical poke in the eye evokes waves of laughter while providing plenty of biting social commentary.

It has been an absolutely amazing experience photographing the FAU Department of Theatre & Dance this year as it was the past year as well! So much creativity, growth, talent, friendship, and family. It is one of my favorite things to do that I thoroughly enjoy. It is always my pleasure to be able to capture the expressions, set design, and talent that flourishes on that stage. Looking forward to so many more experiences!!!

On the blog today I am sharing Andrew and Madeline's family adventure!

I know that for these 2 hours, my clients pray for well behaved children that will wear the clothes they have so perfectly laid out and stand perfectly still with a big smile. The reality of the matter is, it does not always go as planned. Kids want to run, yell, sing, explore, be giddy, and play. Kids truly just want to be kids and I 100% encourage that. I want your kids to express themselves! My parents out there, please do not ever feel embarrassed if your children start crying in the middle of our session or they want to play and run the entire time.

That is exactly what Andrew and Madeline did. They sat with them and played with the sticks they were so enthralled with. Ran with them and gave them a piggy back ride. They were children with them. We can swirl, jump, laugh, and even throw little rocks. Those are all actions worth capturing!

I absolutely loved spending time shooting this adventurous family out in the desert somewhere in California! We put on hats and played awhile in the fog.

5:30am hit the clock.

I got on a plane with my brown motorcycle leather jacket, camera gear, and a huge smile! Sitting on the aisle I knew that this experience was going to be life changing. Only the lights of the waking airport could be seen from the window.

I was adventuring to the dry lands of Southwest California! This trip had been an idea lingering in my head for quite a while. Not only was I going to Joshua Tree National Park, but I was attending a photography workshop and learning from the beautiful ladies: Twyla Jones and Chloe Martinez. Looking at my bucket list while cozy in my seat, I found myself crossing off 3 adventures at once. CRAZY right?!?!?! Read more about it on the blog!

During the Alchemy & Sage Photography Workshop I photographed soulful individuals among the desert horizons with joshua trees and glimmering sunlight! C'on!

Beautiful humans! Hi! The world is filled with ample detail. She is always giving us so much material, just waiting for us to witness, admire, and seize the moment! Even us, as individuals, are a huge supplier of inspiration just waiting to unleash.

When I sit with one of my students, one of my favorite topics to develop is inspiration. Why, you may ask?? Because inspiration is the birthplace from which anything (creative) grows! In order to create, there must be a force out there or within you that is mentally stimulating you to do or feel something!

Right now my driving source is my desire to create a meaning for the word SOFTNESS! What does it mean to be soft for me?? What is soft?? What could be soft?? In my current softened quest this photo of was an attempt at rendering a connotation of softness! The water, her expression, the colors: Gentle I could say!

The question lies in wanting to capture softness even though I can’t find her in my heart.

Yet, I still go out and do it knowing one day she’ll pour out of me like water from an overflowing glass!

This is ME! Hi! It’s been a while. I’ve had quite a bit of time to sit down and ponder on the last 3.5 years of my life. It has been a hectic ride filled with many triumphs and failures. Failures I consider triumphs as they were the learning experiences encompassing most of my self-growth. However, in the last 6 months I could say the floor beneath me shook tremendously.

It is funny how life works. Today I look at some old photos I’ve taken and they don’t move me. I scroll through my Instagram feed and I am not as inspired as I used to be. People I’ve dreamt of having a connection with are only but a faint picture in my head. Friends I ‘vibed’ with, feel distant. I find myself turning off the radio to songs I used to go crazy over! Interesting right? Before I would try to control everything. Force myself to feel inspired, to find a solution, and to reconnect with everything. Yet, the true lesson is letting go and I understood it was time to clear out the old.

I sit here and share with you my little story so far. A story of understanding, change, and self-rebirth. My words are from my heart with love and solace!
