What it meant to me to to be a member of this birth team. 🥹
Her midwife Lindsay Leider, CNM, APRN
Her doula Courtney | Midlife Midwife
Her labor and delivery nurse Alex Kosova
Her hubby Matt Gelber

But beyond all of that, THIS first time MOMMA! What a powerhouse! Marni Gelber

When we first talked, I knew I had to do everything I could to do her justice by capturing her baby girl’s entrance into their lives in the most truthful and dignified way possible. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Marni & Matt for trusting me to do that for you.

I’m so grateful that even after nearly 12 years and capturing over 200 babies coming into this world, I step into each new birth as if it were my first, a heart full of love, an artistry filled with wonder, and a passion to advocate for my clients! I’m almost completely full for 2026 birth photography, DM now to inquire for your due date 💌

This was definitely one of my most humbling experiences. He was serving our country that’s why he couldn’t be physically in person during the birth of their first child. I asked my client to trust me when I said leave your practice and go to Serene Health OBGYN & Wellness | Broward, FL — all she wanted was an opportunity to try to labor and birth her FIRST baby. But her previous practice said automatic C-section based on anatomy scan results measuring large. I said Dr. Skeetes got you and you CAN do this. And just like this, her birth became an iconic moment for South Floridas history. If you’re leaving your wife in someone’s hands while you are going to the Middle East to serve your country, you want to know she will be in capable hands giving her every opportunity to birth the way she wants.
In HONOR of this amazing woman and her family and our country’s 250th I am giving $250 off every single package I offer. So I welcome you to settle into the hands you can trust to care for you and your baby and family threw and threw. Happy Independence day mamas!

Best part of this birth, we stepped out of the room briefly so mama could have a few quiet moments with her family which is sometimes the absolute best thing you can do in birth - allow it to naturally unfold as it’s intending to. Moments later we get a call to hurry back because mama is feeling pressure. We walk in to baby starting to crown and call for the hospital staff to rush and join us in her room, and a birth story was had! 😍
Absolutely love photographing my clients births, whether home, birth center or home, these stories are absolutely unforgettable and so easy to miss if you’re not ready 🫶🏻

SUPPORT sometimes looks like this

__ [ s w i p e ] __

And sometimes it looks like that

Sometimes you need your doula, sometimes you need your husband. Sometimes it’s what your labor and delivery nurse says or does, and sometimes what your birth photographer reminds you are capable of. And sometimes it’s your Midwife’s words or OBs actions. Build the birth that you know is absolutely perfect and customized to YOU. There is absolutely no one out there like YOU, and you deserve the support you need mama 🫶🏻

LOVED this empowering vbac with my girl Jessica | Palm Beach Photographer dang what a strong mama 💪🏻 and her outstanding team at Boca Regional, her committed hubby, her midwives Evidence Based, Full-scope Midwifery Practice and y’all know I love her doula Samara Andreadis

As a woman who’s had two csections with both my kids here’s a few things I appreciate about what I am able to do for my clients who are having a surgical birth:
🔹 I capture the things you never saw. No matter how you approach having a C-section (whether calm and unphased or super nervous) you just don’t notice everything. Sometimes the little details like the way your husband is looking at you or your doula or nurse holding your hand ends up meaning so much to you when you look back at your photos.
🔸 I pay attention to the fact that you’re nervous. When everyone else is focused on medical matters as they should be during a C-section, I am watching you to see how you look. I’m talking you through it. I’m reminding you that pressure on your chest is normal and to slow your breathing. I’m letting you know you’re doing well, and I’m letting you know baby looks good too (from my vantage point since you often can’t see across the operating room to the baby warmer once baby’s delivered).
▫️ Most importantly I’m capturing the very moment you meet your baby so you can look back at these images and remember all the positive memories. This helps to rewire your brain postpartum. Sometimes after having a C-section all your brain can remember is the intensity of the negative scary moments. These photos help you focus on every single positive moment that is worth focusing on. Such as when the nurse is done at the baby warmer and brings your baby over to you and you see and hold her for the first time 🥰
Being a birth photographer in South Florida carries a very heavy weight.
I must preserve these meetings for families in a dignified and loving and beautiful way. I don’t take it lightly. I dedicate my entire life to it. And I’d love to capture your birth story for you 🙂 DM now. Limited availability for 2026.

When you’ve been dreaming of this exact moment your entire pregnancy. Who will my baby look like? Will my baby be a boy or a girl? I can’t wait to see my husband become a dad! I hope I’m able to breastfeed!
All these thoughts running through your mind your whole pregnancy, but in that exact moment, everything fades away as you meet your newborn for the very first time, your first look, you hear their little voice, their first cries. There’s nothing quite like this exact moment. I specialize in capturing it in the most beautiful, least intrusive way. Nurses are always asked to take photos for birthing parents anyway with mom’s cell phone, or dad is holding a phone up. I work quietly and in the background among your birthing team here in Boca, so everyone can focus just on momma and baby and when you see your birth photos you are surprised how I captured certain moments when I was a fly on a wall. If you don’t believe me, ask my clients 😊 I’m quite modest, and many of my clients are. So naturally, many of my birth photos are modest too. But I also have clients who want to celebrate it all, so I capture a birth story that is guided by your preferences, and I have spaces for South Florida births still available for October & November as well as January and February. DM me today. I also have a few limited remaining off-call spaces for Birth Photography, Maternity & Fresh 48 from June-Dec.

One of the things I tell all my families, after your baby’s newborn exam, have dad do skin to skin before baby goes back to you.

We did dad + baby skin to skin with one of my babies, and the other we didn’t (we didn’t know about it then) and guess which baby was happy with whoever wanted to hold her, and which baby only let mommy hold her?

I recommend both you and hubby do skin to skin.

Skin to skin has benefits for baby and mommy but also for anyone baby does skin to skin skin.

Let baby learn both your smells, adjust to both your heart rates, both your body temps and learn to bond with baby in a way that takes family to a whole new level 😊

There is something so special about working in childbirth.
If you had told me 12 years ago I would be attending and witnessing and capturing the birth of over 200 babies in South Florida over the next twelve years I absolutely would have NOT believed you.
Matter of fact, I completely stumbled into being Boca’s Birth Photographer. I went to college for criminal justice 🚨🚓 before I became a mom I worked as an office manager, I’ve been a photographer for 18 years. But I absolutely did not see being a birth worker in my horizon! As August comes up, and my 12th year of photographing births and newborn babies and their parents comes up, I am in awe of my personal growth as a woman, mother, birth worker, and advocate for birthing women.
📸 Photography got me into this field
But advocating for women is what kept me passionate about the work I do 🤲🏻
12 years have been intense! Being ON-CALL is not for everyone! When my husband use to text me “when do you think you’ll be home?” The answer was always “I have no idea” and that definitely took its toll on our family life, and called him into stepping up into a whole new role as dad with a wife/mom who was absent for sometimes 24 hours, only to come home and sleep for the whole day.
While it def started out ROUGH SEAS, instead of feeling like this is not for me after a handful of tough births and a year of birth photography, I’m so thankful I went the opposite direction and realized this ABSOLUTELY is for me and after 12 years and 200+ births I love it as much as I did at my very first birth!!
My wish for you is to find yourself a birth photographer who loves this and loves YOU as much as me, no matter where in the world you are birthing. And if you’re birthing in South Florida, come birth with me. I have a few remaining spaces for June - December 2026 for births, maternity sessions, siblings meeting in hospital and at home as well as family and fresh 48 sessions and I am already taking birth photography clients for January and February.
