In the past month I’ve photographed four weddings at different locations- a church, at a home, at venues. Wedding with coordinators and without, weekday and weekends, evening ceremonies and mid-day.

The thing is, no matter where you get married or the decor you choose one thing is the same: you’re in love. You’ve found your person, how exciting!!

Then, you invite as many of your family members as you can stand (haha) to come together and celebrate and laugh and cry.

And all these unique threads of both your lives coming together in one place. Co-workers and grandmas and the cousins you haven’t seen since you were 6.

On my way to a wedding I listen to the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack and I pray. I pray for a lot of things- that my cameras will work well and that I will do a good job and maybe just maybe be able to remember all the bridesmaid’s names. I pray that I will be able to make the day just a tiny bit better…and I pray the photographs I take will be good (what I consider “good” is a whole other story haha).

Every wedding is different, but my hope and prayer is that I honor the differences and similarities just the same, and in the end you get photographs that feel like YOURS.

I hope you can tell I’m smiling and laughing and hopeful when you look at photos I’ve taken.

Side note: while taking the last photo I was fully on the ground IN the grass- like grass all around my face and it’s the most paparazzi I’ve ever felt and that’s really saying something. Also isn’t Jordyn’s dress beautiful??!
