Mark Feliciano Photography

Mark Feliciano Photography Mark Feliciano Photography is a commercial photography service specializing in portrait photography, Welcome! Oh, and my kids are awesome too!

My name is Mark and I'm a South Eastern Idaho based commercial photographer/retoucher, specializing in portraiture, architecture, interiors, commercial spaces, and product photography.I grew up about 30 miles east of Los Angeles CA and studied photography and design at several local colleges in the eighties. My wife and I recently moved our respective businesses to Idaho Falls, ID and we just love

the slower pace of life and the incredible people we’ve met since moving here. In my twenties, I was an enthusiastic runner, cyclist, hiker and the father of two amazing boys but by my early thirties I began experiencing an odd weakness in my legs which seemed to only grow worse with increased exercise. By the age of thirty-nine I had been diagnosed with a form of Muscular Dystrophy. While I move much slower than I did at twenty, my work is all the more precious to me. People are sometimes surprised when I arrive for a location shoot riding a mobility scooter, but whatever it takes to continue to do what I love makes the difficulties worth the extra effort. When I'm not making images, I enjoy wood working, web design and just spending time with my best friend and wife Barb who is my rock of stability, support and love. I'd love to show you pictures!

My First/Last Image………………….My photographic journey began when I was in High School in the late 60’s when I would develop rolls of B&W film from my small Kodak Instamatic camera. I had a my garage darkroom and spent countless hours there. Later my awesome parents saw my passion and gifted me a Nikon F2 my senior year. Quite a step up! In the mid 70’s I got married and became a father and priorities changed, and eventually I stopped shooting. I did some family stuff here and there but until the advent of digital, I didn’t shoot anything thing of any real “creative” consequence. Then in 2007, after some early toe-dipping into digital, I bought a Nikon D300 and shot the very first night, this image What I’ve always considered my “re-entry” image. Now sadly it’s probably my last post. My body have been mostly wasted by a form of Muscular Dystrophy and getting around, even in my home, has become extremely difficult. Also my wife and I have recently made the decision that I should stop driving period. With that, my ability to get out and shoot is pretty much gone. I held this image, my first, to display here as what may be my last post. I hope not, but practically speaking, the writing is on the wall, and for the first time I’m even thinking about how much I could sell my gear for. It’s not the end of creative pursuit, I believe creativity is innate within us because we are the creation of the Ultimate Creator. It’s our DNA so to speak. So I’ll keep expressing, just not in this way I’ve loved for so long. Thanks for watching.
