this fall weather in the air has me reminiscing on this special Ketchum Idaho wedding at the Central Idaho 4-H Camp for two brides who hate being the center of attention, but LOVE a great party 👏🏻
these two brides told me up front that they are both pretty shy, quiet people.
they told me they don’t love being watched. they don’t love posing or a ton of PDA. & the idea of spending hours and hours taking super posed "formal" photos on their wedding day?! hard pass.
however, when they talked about their friends and family? they lit up. and they are obsessed with their people.
so when they got married in the Idaho Rocky Mountains, their biggest priority wasn’t getting every “perfect” photo.
it was being with their people.
they wanted to actually experience their wedding day and feel like themselves, not forced to do things that didn't feel real or natural to them. they wanted to laugh with their friends, hug their families, dance to Pink Pony Club, drink, celebrate, host basketball tournaments at their wedding venue, go to the hot springs, and soak up the fact that all of their favorite people were in one place.
and that’s exactly how we approached their photos.
we weren't endless posing.
no awkward Pinterest recreations that didn't reflect who they are.
no turning their wedding into a styled photoshoot.
just enough intentional time for the photos that mattered, and then back to the party.
because you can be camera shy and absolutely still want beautiful wedding photos.
you can hate posing and still want to remember how your wedding actually felt.
you can hate being the center of attention and still want everyone you love in one place to celebrate with you.
AND you can care deeply about your photographs without making the photographs the point of your wedding.
your people are the point. the party is the point. the memories are the point.
the photos are here to help you remember it all. 🩷
