The Focused Lens Photography

The Focused Lens Photography Focused on what matters to you. We see the beauty of God's creation in every person we photograph. It’s unclear the exact path God will lead me on.

30 yrs after pursuing photography in high school and college, the passion to take pictures has been reignited. Therefore, this page has been created to mark the beginnings of a new project in my life….The Focused Lens. I’m just going to enjoy taking pictures and see where it goes. One of my goals is to help others see the beauty of God’s handiwork in themselves, others, and all of creation. Please enjoy viewing them as much as I do taking them

Julie and Eric were one of the first families to trust The Focused Lens with capturing their family, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
We photographed this session right after Ben graduated high school and getting ready to head off to college. That makes these portraits even more special.
And let’s be honest…our phones are FULL of pictures.
We take pictures of everything. Vacations, birthdays, dinner, the dog, the kids doing something funny…all of it.
But how many really good pictures do you have of everybody together?
Not a selfie. Not a quick snapshot. A real portrait of your family.
That’s why I’m excited to be offering more family sessions at TFL.
Let’s create portraits you’ll actually want on your walls and that your family will cherish long after the moment has passed.
And for my 2027 Seniors, I’ve got some exciting news…
Every Class of 2027 Senior who books with The Focused Lens will receive a FREE family session. ❤️
It takes a lot to get them to graduation. You deserve pictures with your Senior before they step into the next phase of life.

The reels have been a fun way to reveal our new logo and lots of exciting new changes, but it doesn’t give room to share my heart.
Ten years later, I finally put my name on the door. And that means more to me than you probably realize.
When I first picked up my camera in recovery, I wasn't sure I wanted my name attached to the business. My name carried a lot of disappointment, shame, and things I wasn't particularly proud of.
But The Focused Lens felt like a fresh start. It was exactly what God was showing me: stay focused, look through the lens, and move forward.
What I didn't know then was how much my own story would shape the way I tell yours.
Recovery, therapy, making amends, rebuilding relationships, and learning to see myself through a different lens taught me something I carry into every session: there is so much more to a person than what you see on the surface.
I know what it's like to be in a season you don't want to remember. I also know what it's like to look back and realize how far you've come.
Maybe that's why I'm so passionate about capturing people as they are right now—the connection, the personality, the messy beautiful in-between, and the people who make your life what it is.
Because your story deserves to be seen.
And after ten years, I'm truly proud to put my name on the work.

Still the same heart. Just a little more unapologetic about the woman behind the lens.
