30 yrs after pursuing photography in high school and college, the passion to take pictures has been reignited. Therefore, this page has been created to mark the beginnings of a new project in my life….The Focused Lens. I’m just going to enjoy taking pictures and see where it goes. Along with the many familiar faces I see each year at Recital Portraits, there’s always a new group of dancers stepping in front of my camera for the very first time—often wondering why their dance school has suddenly turned into a photography studio.
When Miss Avery walked into the room, she was shy, uncertain, and determined not to let go of Dad. Skipping her portraits or forcing the moment wasn’t an option, so we simply met her where she was. Dad stayed close by. At first, I just embraced him being in the frame, and then perched nearby, always within reach. If I could get just a lil separation I'd edit him out.
With a little patience, a lot of reassurance, and time to build trust, Avery slowly began to relax. And then it happened—the sweetest smile appeared. Not only did we capture a beautiful recital portrait, but we preserved some sweet moments that perfectly reflected who she was that day. Daddy's girl.

From the youngest lil ballerinas to Seniors, having their last set of Recital Portraits made and all the ages in between, thank you.
2026 marked our 9th yr doing Recital Portraits and it continues to bless me beyond measure to have the privilege of documenting the growth of each incredible dancer.
Huge shoutout to my awesome interns, Carleigh and Emma, who provided headshots and have helped with editing this week.
And my dear husband, Greg, I couldn’t do this without you! THANK YOU for keeping things running smoothly, corraling my ADHD self and pushing me to pursue creativity.

Congratulations to this beautiful Evangel Christian Academy senior. Over the course of three sessions, one of the things I hoped to capture most was Lena’s natural beauty and the sweetness of her spirit — and she made that effortless.
Her softball session was truly one of the most fun athlete sessions yet. We created some incredibly memorable images that celebrated both her love for the game and such a special season for her team.
This fall, Lena is headed to University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and I have no doubt God will continue to guide her steps and use her life in powerful ways.
Her artwork turned out absolutely stunning — the kind of pieces that will be treasured for a lifetime and forever remind her family of this beautiful season. Show this gorgeous girl some love as she steps into her next chapter.

Happy Graduation to Caddo Magnet Senior

This fun-loving guy may be younger brother to Wade, who I photographed a couple years ago, but trust me, he stands in no one’s shadow. Wes is confidently carving his own path, and it’s been such a joy getting to capture this exciting season of his life.

Through his sessions, we created portraits that reflect his style, personality, and musical accomplishments — all highlighting the incredible young man he’s becoming. Now this future Aggie is headed toward a life of service, honor, and purpose, and I have no doubt God has amazing things ahead for him. Congrats Wes.
