One of the most stunning black sand beaches in the world can be found on the southern coast of Iceland, just over 100 miles from Reykjavík.

Reynisfjara features expansive views of pitch-black coast, basalt caves, basalt columns, and a large puffin population. Its natural beauty makes it a popular filming location for many movies and well-known TV series, including Game of Thrones.

Prints available in color.

Salt marshes are among the most biologically productive ecosystems on earth. I love the wide capture of this coastal palette—low tide allowed for a holistic view of the tidal textures.

At the west end of Commercial Street in Provincetown, MA, you’ll see a rock wall jetting into the ocean. This breakwater divides the Cape Cod Bay into two—and as you complete the trek across (make sure to check the tides), you’ll be welcomed by Wood End Light. This lighthouse is located near the southernmost extent of the Provincetown Split and is only accessible by boat or by foot.

Prints available in both color and black and white.

Reflections. 📍Bowman Lake, Glacier National Park. This lake is a hidden gem located in the northwest corner of the park, about 30 miles south of the Canadian border. Getting there requires a drive through the tiny community of Polebridge, a town that’s totally off the grid without cell phone service or WiFi and powered exclusively by solar panels/generators. From May through October, the population is just under 100, but during the colder months it falls to the single digits.

Glacier National Park—what an incredible place. This bighorn sheep was found early Sunday morning standing on the wall along Going-to-the-Sun Road, a 50-mile, two-lane highway that bisects the park east and west.

Dune Shack Series (2):
Many of the shacks—each unique with its own personality—served as lifesaving stations in the 1800s, providing shelter to shipwrecked sailors. Many were also originally built out of debris and driftwood from shipwrecks that had washed ashore.

The tiniest of all the dune shacks—the Tasha shack, pictured here—is significantly known for housing American poet Harry Kemp for over 30 years until his death in 1960.

Dune Shack Series (1):
Tucked into the back shore of Provincetown and Truro among nearly 2,000 acres of isolated beach are 19 historic dune shacks (also referred to as artist shacks) known as The Dune Shacks of the Peaked Hill Bars Historic District. These primitive shacks have no electricity or running water and are open for week-long residence opportunities for artists. Some of the most famous early residents who have benefitted from this opportunity are major figures in American art and literature, like Henry David Thoreau, e.e. Cummings, and Jack Kerouac, who, by his own account, wrote part On The Road here in 1950.

Prints available in both color and black and white. Link in bio.
