Happy World Photography Day and Week! I take pictures pretty much every day of the year, not always as a planned shoot with my “big camera”, it’s often just things I come across that happen to catch my eye, shot with my phone, or with a smaller “walk-around” camera. I used to have a Panasonic Lumix that I won, but sadly sold at some point. I’ve regretted that ever since, it was a great little camera! I need another one of those...

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at a few photos taken on this day / during this week in the past 10 years. Some I’ve shared before, others not.

I didn’t get to see the eclipse, but I did spot this interesting phenomenon on the way to Gotland (Indravajra?). I’ve never seen this before in all the 100s of times I’ve flown and looked out the window the entire time. Pretty cool! 😃

Walks, treats and beautiful sunsets on the west coast of Gotland. The sea stack in picture 3 is known as “Apan” (“The Monkey”).

Thanks to my friends Lotta and Benny who suddenly decided to get married after a 40-year engagement (true story 🙂), I got to spend a few beautiful days on Gotland, the island where I grew up. My parents passed away many years ago, so we don’t visit very often anymore, it’s been 7 years since the last time. It was amazing to be back though, strolling around town and being reminded of what a special place it really is. Home is always home no matter how long you’re away. 💙

Stockholm ❤️

It was really hot here for a few days last week, so we went on a daytrip to Sandhamn in the outermost part of the Stockholm archipelago for some cool breezes and fresh ocean air. The trip out took 2 ½ hours and was beautiful, lots of islands, nature, and cute houses to see along the way. Sandhamn itself was really cute too, although I think I’d prefer it in the off season, it was a bit too crowded for my taste, at least on the day we were there. But I’m still happy we went, it was a beautiful day on the water and fun to see a new part of Stockholm!

Another flashback to France and the incredible Villa Kerylos in Beaulieu-sur-Mer. It was one of the places I missed before, but this time, I made it, and what an amazing place it is! Patterns, mosaic, art, and design everywhere, but it somehow manages to be stunning rather than overwhelming.
