And because there are some new faces here, this feels like the perfect time to reintroduce myself.

I’m Shannon—a wife, a mom to Stella, Mila, Dominic and Roman, and the photographer behind Shot by Shannon Lerro.

At 37, I’m in the thick of it.

I’m raising four little people while building a business around photographing the very season I’m living myself. My days are full, loud, funny, exhausting and incredibly beautiful—sometimes all within the same five minutes.

Becoming a mother is what taught me how quickly ordinary moments become the ones we miss most. It’s why I care so deeply about creating photographs that feel beautiful without pretending life is perfectly polished.

This year, I hope to share more of both: the work I create and the real person—and mother—behind the camera.

Your first baby makes you a mother. Every baby after stretches your family into something new.

These days are filled with quiet moments, laughter, joy, wonder—and so much busyness that it can all blur together.

I’ll never forget this summer, and I want every mom in front of my lens to remember hers too. Give yourself photographs that will bring you back to exactly how it felt to become a mother and watch your family grow.

Bringing home a new baby is a BIG transition for a toddler too. Asking them to sit still, smile, and be gentle for an entire newborn session just isn’t realistic.

As a mom of four—and a photographer who works with little kids all the time—I expect the movement, dance breaks, snacks, silliness, and moments when they’re completely done with me 😂

We work with it. We give them space. And when they’re ready, we invite them back in.

If you’re due this winter, let’s get the newborn session of your dreams on the books - I promise it will be worth it!

I used to think a successful, beautiful newborn session only looked one way: a sleeping baby, cooperative siblings, and everyone feeling their best.

Four babies later—and currently living the newborn stage again—I know better. The awake baby, snack breaks, and minimal sleep are part of the story too. Trust me, you’ll want to remember these days.

Just show up as you are. I’ll help with the rest. 🤍

Your first baby: remembered. 🤍

I just booked my first 2027 newborn client (😮!!), which feels WILD to say.

If you’re expecting, first of all — congratulations. And second, I’d love to help you figure out how you want to remember all of this.

Maybe that starts with an announcement. Maybe it’s your belly at 30 weeks, those first hours together in the hospital, bringing your baby home, or watching them slowly turn into the little person they’re going to become.

You don’t need to do all of it. But I do think you’ll be really glad you chose to document some of it.

Because as someone currently watching my own baby change basically by the day, I can confirm: this part goes ridiculously fast.
