I've said it before and I'll say it again; nothing beats shark diving. You can't see it here because my GoPro is mounted on top of my camera housing and it happens fast, but Emma grabbed my housing, scratching the dome and breaking a piece off my strobe. Fortunately there was no real damage.

Playing peekaboo with Emma. As a parent, I can say for sure that it’s way more interesting playing peekaboo with a tiger shark than with a toddler.

Jitterbug, aka Buttface, with a nice overhead pass. I love the way sharks move. Every swing of the tail is hypnotic. Sorry for the not so great video quality. I shot this on a GoPro and I don’t have any serious video editing software, being that photography is more my game and all.

Crepuscular rays, also known as god rays, break the surface as a reef shark swims by while I hang on the keel of the Dolphin Dream during a safety stop. This was one of the more stunning sights during a week full of awe inspiring and humbling moments. This is why we dive.

Tiger Beach was as magical this time around as it was my first time. Thank you Joe Romeiro -underwater filmmaker/cameraman and Lauren Romeiro for putting the trip together. Thank you to Connor Cassidy,
and the crew of the Dolphin Dream for their hard work to get the sharks nice and close for some great photo opportunities, and their hospitality out of the water. It was great seeing and getting back in the water with old friends (Bill Fisher, Joe, and Connor), and meeting new ones. Shark diving has been a longtime passion, though it went dormant for a while. I don't intend to let that happen again. I can't wait to get back in the water with those toothy beauties. Hopefully the next time will be with some new species, or in a new spot. I'll be posting plenty of photos from this trip over the next few weeks as I get them ready to share.

Just came back from my first shark diving trip in a long time, and I’m very happy with the photos I got and the experience I had. Great people, great weather, awesome food, and the sharks were more playful than I could have hoped for. Nothing beats a shark diving trip. I’m still on the road home, and I have a lot of photos to look through and edit, but here’s a quick preview of a reef shark at night for you all until I can get to the rest of my photos.

The April 8th, 2024 eclipse. I took these photos through clouds, so the corona and the “diamond ring,” aren’t as brilliant as they otherwise could have been, but I‘m still happy with them. The best part of this eclipse, though, was getting to see it with my wife, our son, and some friends. Hearing my son and his friend say it’s the coolest thing they’ve ever seen, and the awe in the adults voices as they experienced it, made all the planning and stress of chasing clear skies worth every second. It was my second eclipse and their first, but I hope it was not the last for any of us. Seeing one again only makes me feel more strongly that everyone should experience totality at least once. If you missed your opportunity to pick up a photo, Coffee Break Cafe at Old Colony Ave in City of Quincy is hosting my stuff yet again! They’ll be there all month. CBC has been really great to me over the years, but especially these last 4 months. I’ve been in at least one, and up to three of their locations every month since September. Swing by if you’re in the area and pick up a coffee, bagel, or some awesome donuts if it happens to be Sunday. The donuts are from yet another local business that they support. CBC is an awesome business run by awesome people, and I want to publicly say a big thank you to them for their continued support of local artists and businesses.
