Senior photos are generally one of the first big steps before starting one of the biggest years yet as a senior preps for graduation and all that follows.
It is an honor to be a small part of this big year for every senior I have photographed, and being there to support the parents is always part of the deal….
This one was a little different ~ looking through the lens at this young woman who has been the subject of my photos from moments into her life, my assistant in scoping out locations, or being the cooperative sibling for quick holiday card photos. She finally got her own session - or two ❤️.
At the time, there were so many unknowns for the year ahead, but these photos solidified that things were going to get real - and quickly. Her photos were used for many purposes through the year, but looking back at these from one year ago, I am reminded of how even at this age when you don’t physically change as much, so many things change and so much growth happens otherwise in such a rapid era. She started with questions and doubt and is leaving today to move to start her next chapter.
Photos have played a big part in my relationship with my kids - I never wanted to miss anything because I knew I wouldn’t remember the details otherwise. The same still holds true now as they’ve gotten older. Take the pictures, and remember the moments.
Wishing this girl - and maybe me - luck with her transition, and I will continue to be in awe in the audience ❤️.
