The Abrahamson fam ❤️
A few months ago, Calsey and I started dreaming up this session together. They’re expecting their second baby, and we planned a fun evening with a pizza picnic baby announcement in the horse pasture.
On paper, it was all planned out, but…Truett had a different plan 😂
From the moment I arrived, he wanted everything to do with the skid steer and almost nothing to do with our picnic (or me). So instead of trying to get him to do what we had planned, I followed his lead instead.
We wandered. We played. We explored. I let him show me his world and somewhere along the way, he forgot I had a camera in my hands and was happy to show me his ponies and Bobcat haha!
By the end of the session, he wandered over for pizza and a Coke, even gave his mama a kiss and a bite of his pizza, and then happily headed right back to the skid steer 😂
When I sat down to edit their gallery, I realized my favorite photographs weren’t the ones we planned—they were the ones we never could have.
Before every session, I’m checking the light, scouting locations, and helping with outfits. And don’t get me wrong, I LOVE all of that, but what I’m really looking forward to is getting to know you.
My hope is that somewhere along the way, you forget there’s a camera between us—that you’re laughing with your kids, chasing them through the grass, and simply enjoying an evening together. And I hope you feel like you’re hanging out with a friend.
Because the best photographs don’t come from perfect plans. They come from trust. They come from connection. They come from giving families the space to simply be themselves.
I’m still booking fall sessions and I’d love to spend an evening with your family before winter hits! Shoot me a message and I’ll send over my calendar 🥰
