B + E’s elopement was intentional, wild and incredibly peaceful.
It started at sunrise, tucked away beside a small alpine lake within one of Washington States most gorgeous mountains towering above them. Morning fog settled across the water, the mountains were quiet, and there wasn’t another person around. Just the two of them, the stillness of the morning, and a whole lot of space to take it all in and read their private vows to each other with the morning sunshine beaming through the dew drops on the tree.
Afterward their vows, they sat down for a little picnic breakfast and read letters from the people they love while I captured the smaller details of their day. This was probably my favorite morning activity we did before we took a break for midday. Afternoon came, and we all made our way to the visitor center for lunch together, taking a little break to slow down, eat, laugh, cut the cake, and just enjoy being together before the evening began.
And then, somehow, the day changed completely.
That evening, surrounded by only their parents, they had their sunset ceremony as the light faded across the mountains and B’s dad reading their vows and being the one to officially marry them. We wandered through some of the most stunning landscapes in Washington, chasing the last bit of light and letting them simply be together in a place B and E have dreamed of for so long now.
Sunrise. Fog. An alpine lake. Letters from home. Lunch with family. Sunset. Mountains. Those who matter the most.
A whole day that felt like them. Unhurried, meaningful, intentional. Not rushed or posed. Not looking for an “Instagram” shot or a social media trend. Truly. Just the two of them and the most incredible and supportive parents.
