A year ago today, Elle and I took a spontaneous trip to China. With almost zero expectations in mind, we were greeted by an amazing culture filled with kindness, diligence, and gratitude. One thing we noticed that each person embodied, was the presence of Yin and Yang. While being there, we meet up with our friend Lauren who explained to us more of what it exactly means to them. For many, it’s a way of life and understanding how the flow of energy moves in and around us. After hearing about its significance, I was intensely drawn to the meaning. After asking many, the most common word that came up was balance. A balance of complementary yet opposing forces that are both interconnected and interdependent. Together they create all aspects of life. The most valuable lesson I took away from hearing the stories of Yin and Yang, is about not pushing back but accepting life’s contrasts and learning to see how the two opposites create the flow of energy needed for life. I’m excited to revisit this country one day soon, but I’m even more excited to share with you guys the video I’ve been working on and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
