CM Landscape Photography

CM Landscape Photography I create landscape photography of beautiful places from my base in Boulder, Colorado. Images are available as high-quality prints or cards in various sizes.

I originally hail from the Pacific Northwest, and the sights and smells of dank tangled forest draped around snow-capped volcanoes that are threaded with powerful rivers still feels like home to me, though at this point I have not lived there for most of my life. However, no matter where I've lived, I feel that the natural world is a Greatly Sustaining Force (as one Pooh Bear might say), and it is

to our detriment that we cut ourselves off from it. I am fascinated by nature, across all of its spatial and temporal scales, along with all of the intricacy and complexity that evolutionary, geologic, and astronomic influences have wrought. For me, photography is one way I enjoy exploring this world. In particular, landscape photography allows me to be outside at magical times of the day, witnessing intersections of space and time that cannot be repeated, and can only be semi-captured with the imperfect tool that is the camera. Though children have changed the scope of my outdoor adventures somewhat in recent years, I am still a sucker for a semi-epic sufferfest, whether "suffering" be derived from backpacking (I get to be my own mule!), a long pre-dawn hike, or cold temperatures in a blind before the sun rises.

One Season Following Another

The summit of Mount Sneffels (14,153 ft; 4,314 m) rises into the dying light to bask in the longest rays, its craggy face shaped and wizened by tens of thousands of winters.
