I got a cold right as busy season is starting, which feels like excellent timing.

The kids are back in school and somehow both seem five years older than they did in May. And now September is here and work is picking up fast. Lots of sessions, lots of editing, lots of forgetting my coffee in the microwave eight times a day.

I keep noticing lately how much older my kids are getting. I helped my older son fill out a form for his new chess class and I’m pretty sure he’s a better writer than me now.

I think that’s why I love photographing moms with kids at these ages. They’re still your babies but also becoming these whole separate people. Too quickly.

Anyways, September, be gentle with me. I have a cold and a puppy.

Rocky Mountain National Park, you’re always so good to us.

I’ve been deep in summer sessions lately, and somehow we’re already creeping toward fall. My fall calendar is filling up fast. I have just a couple of weekend spots left at this point so grab ‘em if you want ‘em.

I’m also heading into some photography education this weekend that I’m really excited about. I made a point this year to dive deeper creatively, push myself a little more, and keep growing- and it’s happening.

I just opened up a few more September dates after realizing that taking Rosie camping right now feels a little ambitious.

September is always one of my favorite months to photograph in Colorado. Golden light, warm evenings, and just the beginning of fall.
