I have found that my quality of life depends on my perspective. Lets face it, our lives are full of so many things that keep us busy...things that can either weigh us down spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically OR lift us up.

This little pond was a pleasant surprise along the narrow mountain road to Crystal Mill in a remote area of western Colorado. It sat beautifully where the peaks divided and gave space for a tiny valley where the pond naturally formed. I took these photos at the same spot, of the same scenery. All I did was change my perspective a little... stepped to the side a foot, zoomed in, zoomed out... very little movement on my part but look at the difference it made in each shot.

The dead tree in the image...some may find it ugly while others find it beautiful. And the reflection it leaves in the water is like an imprint of its life. Look at the whole photo...the dead tree is surrounded by SO MUCH BEAUTY. We have seasons of hardship, heartache and struggles but we are still surrounded by beautiful things in life. We simply need to find the strength to see the beauty. I say we need strength because sometimes it is very hard to see the beauty in life when the storms are raging and we are drowning.

Things in our lives are not always easy. We all struggle with things that we keep hidden, things that we share and things that we wish we could change. The things we find hard or ugly can be beautiful if we change our perspective a little...or alot. And I have always found that those "ugly" things can easily turn beautiful when given time and treated with love, grace and patience. I guarantee that what you and/or I find ugly about ourselves, or certain circumstances, others find beautiful.

Let's help each other hold onto joy... I will hold your hand while you walk through your storms and I will always help you find beauty in yourself and/or this life we have been blessed with.
