throwback to the days of leading and assisting wood firings at / ! scroll for some of my work from around the time this photo was taken (summer of 2015). my how my handles have improved since then 😆

it’s been very difficult to afford to continue my artistic practice since graduating in 2016. i miss atmospheric firing dearly, as it is what i started with and studied all throughout my undergrad years. perhaps one day i’ll have a house and land to build my own kilns on. for now, i’m saving up to buy an electric kiln and just going with the flow of my work and the small but sturdy spaces i’m able to inhabit to create that work. do what you want and have a great week everyone 🤍

next up in my photography project, “Q***r Solace” we have in their safe space, in Nashville! Lucas was kind enough to share these moments of tranquility that he experiences while there. the strength, patience and focus that learning pole work takes is so admirable, and it was a pleasure to experience this world, if only for a brief moment.
