Highlights from last night, workshop 2 night 2 here in the Tetons.

The Milky Way appears through some clouds, with some light pollution reflecting under the cloud bank on the horizon. Photographed with my OM System OM-3 ASTRO camera and 17mm f1.2 PRO lens on a star tracker.

The other photo features both the Lagoon Nebula (on bottom) and the Trifid Nebula (upper right). A single exposure image photographed in handheld high res mode (50MP file) on my star tracker with the OM-3 ASTRO along with the M.Zuiko 50-200mm f2.8 PRO lens and 1.4x teleconverter.

Photographing the Milky Way at ISO 20,000? On a micro four thirds camera??? 🤔 Sure - why not!!

Last night for the start of workshop 2 we had some clouds roll in, giving us the opportunity for some moody Milky Way shots.

I’ve already photographed the Milky Way successfully at ISO 12,800 on my OM System cameras so I decided to push things further and see if ISO 20,000 could work.

I think the image speaks for itself. The ISO 20,000 photo is the vertical photo, single exposure. The one of the barn is ISO 8,000, and the one lit up by a car’s headlights is at ISO 3200.

All photos from my OM SYSTEM OM-3 ASTRO camera using the M.Zuiko 12mm f2.0 (for the barn photo) and M.Zuiko 17mm f1.2 PRO lenses.

And none of this would be possible without DxO PureRAW handling that high ISO noise.

Last night / early this morning was the last night for workshop 1. What a great group they were!!

This photo is from the early hours of this morning, photographed with my OM System OM-3 ASTRO camera and M.Zuiko 45mm f1.2 PRO lens on my Move Shoot Move tracker.

The Astro modified camera is designed to really bring out the nebula color and it’s been so great finally putting this camera through the paces. From center bottom to top we can see the Lagoon, Omega, and Eagle Nebula and above that is emission nebula Sh 2-54.

Tonight is the start of workshop 2 and I can’t wait to meet the new group!

I kinda think these two photos are out of this world, don’t you? 🤔😉

Last night on night 3 of photo workshop 1 some of us were concentrating on some deep space photos. In the photo of the two nebula, in the lower left is the Omega nebula and in the upper right is the Eagle Nebula. The other photo shows the Andromeda Galaxy along with M110.

I was really pushing the weight limit on my Move Shoot Move star tracker, having my OM System OM-3 ASTRO camera attached to it with the M.Zuiko 50-200mm f2.8 lens and 1.4x teleconverter. It limited my length of exposure time and also negatively affected image quality a bit, but these 2 photos did come out decent enough to post. I mistakenly didn’t bring my iOptron heavier duty tracker with me this trip 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️.

Highlights from last night, night 2 of workshop 1, during my back-to-back sold out OM System night sky photo workshop here in Grand Teton National Park.

All three photos were photographed with my OM SYSTEM OM-3 ASTRO camera.

The two Milky Way photos were shot on a Move Shoot Move tracker. I used high resolution mode on the camera to give me a 50MP image for the sky. The foreground image was shot in 80MP high res mode.

The star trails were shot using Live Comp.

I'm back in one of my happy places - the Tetons - leading my first photo workshop 5 months past my cancer treatment!

This was photographed last night with the OM SYSTEM OM-3 ASTRO camera and M.Zuiko 12mm f2.0 lens.

The light on the barn is from a passing car, as light painting is illegal in the park.

I'm here for back-to-back sold out OM SYSTEM exclusive photo workshops. If you want to join me here next year, I still have some available spots next June.

I took the Luna Ultra out trail running!

Yeah I know this is definitely not the intended use of this camera, but I was curious to see how both the image stabilization and the internal mic handled being out on the trail.
