Happy to see the smoke is subsiding a bit in town. Hopefully it stays that way so I can start taking photos next week! On the positive side I was able to order a few pieces of equipment & they will arrive by then! Today marks the beginning of my newest photography project, "What Remains".

Many of you have followed along with "Where Time Stayed" project, where I photograph abandoned places before theyā€™re lost to time. What Remains is its companion projectā€”focused on preserving the historic buildings and landmarks that have survived, so their stories can continue to be told.

For the first chapter of this journey, I spent the day exploring Crow Wing State Park, photographing a few of the historic buildings that still stand today.

Thereā€™s something special about walking the same paths people traveled generations ago and seeing these places preserved for future generations. Every weathered board, worn doorway, and hand-built cabin has a story worth remembering.

Beautiful sunset tonight on Mille Lacs!

This was captured on my iPhone, but Iā€™ll be sharing the photos from my camera later this week.

Sometimes all it takes is a quiet sunset to remind us to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the moments we often rush past.

Iā€™m especially thankful right now because Iā€™ve been given the opportunity to photograph one of Minnesotaā€™s incredible historic buildingsā€”something thatā€™s been on my bucket list for years. ā¤ļø

Sometimes the best moments arenā€™t plannedā€”theyā€™re simply lived.

Over the past week, Iā€™ve stepped away from editing and business to spend time where it matters mostā€¦ with my family.

Weā€™ve watched the sun settle over the lake, explored the shoreline, spotted wildlife, laughed with the kids, and enjoyed the kind of quiet moments that remind you to slow down.

As a photographer, itā€™s easy to get caught up behind the camera chasing the next image. This weekend reminded me that some of the most meaningful photographs come from simply being present.

Thank you for following along as I share both the places I photograph and the moments that inspire me to pick up my camera in the first place.
