Momma brought the young'ns up closer to the house tonight. She didn't seem to mind me, but Dad kept an eye on me the whole time.

Short hike at the farm trails today with the macro lens. Lots of bear signs - tipped over rocks, large logs dislocated and shredded. Kept my eyes out. I figured the one day I didn't bring the 600mm zoom would be the day Sprinkles XIII (the resident bear's name) would show up.

Took a quick trip up to Skyline last night just for curiosity's sake and was shocked to see how much smoke lingered in the valleys. This was taken from Franklin Cliffs overlook facing Page Valley.

If you photograph a place often enough, it's easy to fall into the routine and forget to notice the little things along the way. On a recent photo walk with a friend, I was reminded of this as she stopped to shoot little shadows, textures, shapes. I realized I'd stopped noticing. Don't forget to notice things.
