When I first became a full time photographer 3 years ago— I had huge dreams of hundreds of clients, a studio to work in, and the freedom to never miss another holiday with my kids at the expense of my job.
I’ve never lost sight of that dream, no matter how any times I’ve tweaked it or had to take a hard left turn in the opposite direction.
And I think that’s business owning.
You find your non-negotiables and you do your best to balance them all. That’s the secret recipe and It’s not perfect every time (that part is important).
So maybe this big dream of hundreds of clients felt more like burnout, so you had to raise your investment cost and hundreds turns into a healthy handful. And maybe a studio to work in doesn’t have to be your own, maybe it’s someone else’s dream that you now get to support and get to use purely creatively, releasing you from the pressure to maintain it too. Maybe dreams change— and that’s okay. In fact, that’s how it’s supposed to work.
As I enter my last week as a studio owner, I want to thank everyone who has been in my corner, supported my ideas + given me their business time and time again. I’ve produced a lot of my best work in this space and I have you guys to thank for giving me the opportunity to work with your families and businesses.
It’s been hard to find these words in fear of what follows. Everyone’s genuine curiosity of “what’s next?”
But what if I told you, what’s next is no big secret surprise or hat trick, no big finale to top my last career stride.
I realize that we get to bring all the best things about Dream Kitsap with us. A supportive community, limitless creativity, all the skill we’ve gained from our journey of working in low, artificial + natural light.
It all comes with.
We’re closing this chapter with gratitude. And continuing the work that is still to be done 🎞️
As always, I’ll be servicing all of the Olympic Peninsula with studio and outdoor location options— 📸
Thank you thank you thank you, a million times over for this incredible platform to showcase my work and build relationships with all of you 🤟🏼
All my love,
Mol ✨
