Monday Motivation: Get a closer look. I confess I wear glasses when I drive at night. Truth be told my eye doctor wants me to wear them through the day but thanks to my Fibro, which does affect my vision, my glasses are often left in my desk drawer.

As a result, I can see but not fine details until I get home with my camera and see my images on my huge computers screen, not on my tiny view finder. At art museums I drive people crazy because I will look at a painting for close to ten mintues, more if the painting is large.

An artist takes time with the details, and overthinks so much about their work. I often switch in my mind from wide shot to "tight in" as I work. It's a constant battle for perfection. But that battle is with myself and I enjoy the challenge. I rarely takes shots like this. I try to capture a whole flower but on this day I was looking at this one flower so long I felt like I was inside it and I wanted to take an image showing that.

This week it's my birthday! Honestly between the shop, worrying about my horse and all the rain I am excited but also tired. If I forget to post Thursday, it's because I plan to be at the barn with her.

Have a great week!

Throwback Thursday is of little Sophia! I still love this session so much. She wore two dresses, but this one was my favorite! Tomorrow I will be closed for my mother's birthday, but I will try and check my messages and e-mails in the evening.

Have a great weekend!

Sorry I was MIA last week. I was super busy with the shop and then getting ready for my family to come and visit for a birthday party.

I am very bad about posting in June due to Father's Day, my mom's birthday and my own birthday. Normally I close for the month. But I did a quick session this last weekend on my family for my mother's birthday! Not sure if I will post them here because it was just in the back yard.

My tip today, stay dry and do not drive in roads where the water is high!

Throwback Thursday is of Mike, Lane and Kelly! A sweet family I have had the pleasure of working with a few times before they had to move. I love this shot so much, Lane was still pretty little and didn't find pictures all that exciting or fun, but this image is a candid shot of Kelly and Mike just being great people, and parents as they cooed at their son so we could keep going. The session was a fun one and I don't think I shared this image from it before because it's a bit of an outtake, but today I looked at it with fresh eyes and I love it because this is what parenting looks like.

Sorry I was silent this week, I have been really busy. The rain is keeping me from snapping people, but I have been setting off in my Jeep photographing anything my heart desires, and that kind of freedom has been so fun!

Have a great week!

Step back Saturday is of awesome house model Shannon! This session was so much fun and she found the location. I was shocked how small it was, but we really did make the most out of it!

Hoping to get a session done this month with my assistant, and friend, Brittney. We keep changing ideas and locations. But I see her this next week so we can have a meeting about it and nail it down. Also, I am having a session with my horse done for my birthday. I can hardly wait.

Have a great weekend!

So today I set out to find some of my favorite little reptiles. At first they were very shy and avoided me at all costs. I had to sit for a bit and just hang out letting them know I was just there to look.

I love this shot and will be placing it for sale on Redbubble, I think I will title it Zen.
Have a great day!

A Tip on a Wednesday, do not wait for motivation to strike. Sunday, I headed off in my Jeep to take pictures of wildflowers that grow in the front if my neighborhood. In jeans and mud boots I walked in knee high grass and weeds, checking for snakes, and taking picture of whatever the sun was hitting just right. I walked around for about 30 mins and had to force myself to stop because I started getting too hot. The field has zero shade!

No idea what this plant was but it was aglow in such a stunning way I snapped away as best I could because I was kneeling in a mud pit.

I did swear not to bore you all with flower pictures, and I am trying really hard to keep my word. I plan to strike out looking for turtles soon.

Have a great week!

Thank you does not seem enough to the heroes that didn't make it home. Today we pause and remember those that gave all.

This week has been a blur of rain! But while that was going on I did manage to get a lot of those pesky chores you never get to around the house done. I hung up a bookshelf, redid the walls in the office/library and even weeded out some old books to make room for new ones. I also started painting a spice rack, but my cat decided to help, and well, I won't get into the mess that was the result of that!

I am still trying to do a makeup session from April, if you can believe it and then a session of me and my horse. Ugh this rain.

Today's throw back is of guest house model, and one of my favorite cowgirls, Leah! She is the sister of a friend of mine and my former assistant Amiel's sister in law. Talk about a free spirit and a beautiful soul. My only regret when it comes to Leah, she doesn't live in Texas!

Have a great weekend. Also, more artwork will be for sale in my shop in Brenham Texas. I am busy framing some of it this weekend to drop off on Tuesday.

Cheers!
