Found this nice little window to the west among the pines. An hour-long timelapse using the camera's built-in intervelometer produced around 700 shots and of them all, I think this one is my favorite. Love that last bit of warm sunlight!

When first walking upon this black bear sow, her cub high in the branches above, she was sleeping soundly in the Ketchikan woods. From a safe distance, I waited with a long lens until she finally lifted her head and I took this shot. It's the most well-framed shot of a black bear I have ever been fortunate enough to create and it looks stunning as a large wall print or canvas!
