Newborn photographers typically follow a rule that newborn portraits need to be done when a baby is under 12 days old. But this is why I love offering lifestyle sessions. This little guy was four weeks old! We were still able to get amazing newborn portraits without worrying about the “posing window” time frame. I am REALLY excited to announce an additional feature for portrait sessions. I have created a natural light, lifestyle section of my studio. These sessions are less-posed, lit by beautiful window light and are meant to showcase the bond between you and your family. This type of portrait session is also great for “older” newborns and babies of any age! Im looking forward to doing more indoor family portrait sessions, as well. I will be showcasing more examples over my next few posts. This client decided to do all lifestyle with their baby and no studio lit imagery or posing. However, I was still able to sneak in some extra cute, more natural posing. Other clients have chosen to do a a hybrid session (some studio lit and posed AND lifestyle).

What a smoosh! This little guy set a record for fastest posing session! I think I was done in 45 minutes. Did you know that a newborn session can take anywhere from 2-4 hours? A lot of the time is spent with feeding, changing or snuggling baby.
