TODAY IS THE BIG DAY!!! Darkslide Film Lab is now open for orders!!!! I have worked so hard on this for the past 7 months, and to celebrate finally being able to launch im giving away one of my *many* cameras. I have a few the winner can pick from!!
HOW TO ENTER:
-Place an order for film development at www.darkslidefilmlab.com
-Re-share this post to your story
-Tag two friends bellow
-Follow !
Winner will get to decide between a few 35mm cameras I have that have been collecting dust. I will have examples photos from each one. I figure some of these cameras could be used and loved by other photographers rather than collecting dust in my studio.
I can't wait to see what everybody has been shooting & I look foreword to building meaningful relationships with all of my customers! Thank you for supporting my small business ❤️🙏🏻

There’s just something about grainy black and white film that i can’t get over 😍 this image was shot on expired tmax 400, the t grain structure is one of my favorites. It expired in 2006 which is what gave it this beautiful grainy appearance. This image was shot & scanned with the same lens!! A 100mm canon 2.8 macro lens. DSLR scanning has made scanning go from my least favorite part of the process, to my now favorite. The .supply kit allows you to scan an entire roll of film in roughly 1-2 minutes, and it is super easy to switch between formats. Their light table has a 99CRI which provides the best colors and dynamic range. I pretty much stopped shooting 35mm because i was never satisfied with how my scans were turning out, with this new set up I’m so happy to be shooting it again with the results i wanted! I can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking to upgrade their scanning set up. The efficiency factor pays for itself ten-fold in the time you save. This is going to help keep my turn around time fast for my film lab opening on March 1st!

Carolina came by the studio to update her digitals, and of course we shot some film after 😁 It’s been an exciting week in the studio, i received my .supply scanning set up! This will allow me to scan an entire roll of 35mm or 120 in roughly 1-2 minutes. Gone are the days of wasting away flat bed scanning all day! This is going to help me with my film lab so much! Speaking of my lab, I finally decided on a name! Darkslide Film Lab will be opening for orders soon! 😁 i made a separate account for it, and have been working on the website all day today. 🤍🎞

Over the last several months i have completely dedicated myself to my film process. When i decided to dive in and start processing myself again, i felt like i was heading in the most fulfilling direction for myself. I processed my own black and white film for roughly 8 years, and was intimidated by the C-41 process. But i knew if i worked really hard, it would be worth it. Now, many months later, i am feeling extremely confident in my process. I shot these images this week of on my Hasselblad, the first three images are VERY old Fuji Reala 100 (damn you fuji for having so many gorgeous out of production film stocks) and the last image was shot on Portra 400. I couldn’t be more thrilled with how these images came out, and at this point i don’t really have much interest in shooting digital. Film is it’s own look, it’s own experience, and will forever hold a very special place in my heart. I’ve been sharing most of my film work on my other account , so if you want to see some of my work outside of my portrait work that i share here, check it out!! Also, if you want to see how my 4x5 images turned out from this shoot- I’ll be posting them there ☺️😆

My type of clients are the ones who aren't into the cookie cutter kind of shoots. The ones who are down to go the extra mile for "the shot". Morgan & Jason's engagement shoot was one of my favorite shoots this year. They wanted engagements photos, but "not like the ones everyone else does, we want fashion." MUSIC TO MY EARS!!! We planned three different locations, three different looks, color-coordinated with each one, and had so much fun. This look/ location we only stayed at for about 10-15 minutes before moving on, and that's truly all we needed. After getting this shot, I knew this one was it. Definitely going to print this one to hang in the studio!!
