I was going through old memory cards trying to find a few pictures and came upon a previous trip to the zoo.

The Aviary at the NC Zoo permanently closed last year in 2022, but it was always my favorite place to spend my time there!!

These pictures are from April 2021. I always enjoyed trying to get pictures of as many of the different birds as I could find!

Adventured to the North Carolina Zoo yesterday knowing it was going to storm. The air was so sticky before the rain came, but I was able to get a few pictures before (and possibly during 😉) the downpour! Definitely one of my favorite trips to the zoo! ⛈

Earlier this week, I posted about my trip to Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. For my New Years Resolution this year, I decided to attempt to make it to every state park and recreation area listed in the North Carolina State Parks Adventure Book by My Naturebook Adventures. There are 64 places listed which include state parks, former state parks, recreation areas, and state forests. With this, I also plan on creating an Instagram and maybe a TikTok to go with this as well - I'll let you all know the info as soon as I decide on what I'm doing.

While I am off to a slow start and have only made it to two parks [keep an eye out for Carolina Beach State Park!], I can't wait to share my adventures with you as I attempt to make it to all 64 locations! :]

I was fortunate enough to spend my birthday weekend last month at Carolina Beach. While there, I decided to head to Fort Fisher State Recreation Area and see what the Basin Trail had to offer. The views were spectacular as you walked the boardwalks over the marshes while you made your way to the basin overlook at the end. But what caught my eye the most as I made my way, was this Great Egret searching for food a little ways off the path. On the way back to my car, in the distance I noticed an entire tree full of roosting egrets and perhaps other types of birds . Unfortunately it was far enough in the distances that I couldn't get a good picture!

I can't wait to go back and see what else I'm lucky enough to find!

Hey everyone! I'm starting to jump back into photography (again) and I am working on getting things together, so keep an eye out for new stuff!

For now, enjoy this photo of the horses at Cade's Cove from my trip there last May. I've been there multiple times, but this was my first time seeing the horses and I got lucky enough to see them being brought out into the pasture. Beautiful sight to see.

After months of not being able to upload pictures, life has finally begun to sort itself out and I'll be able to start uploading pictures again. Hope you all are as excited as I am!

I have a lot of older pictures to go through, though I'm not so sure I am even going to go through them, and hopefully I'll be able to head out to start taking new pictures soon with my favorite season being here!
