A note from your photographer🤎✨
I've been seeing a lot of posts lately about AI, new laws being discussed, and the concerns surrounding what can happen when photos-especially photos of children-are shared online.
And honestly, as a photographer and as a mom, I completely understand why this has so many parents thinking twice.
AI has capabilities now that are honestly hard to wrap your head around. The way images can be altered, manipulated, recreated, and misused can feel rather unexplainable, and when it comes to photos of our babies and children, I understand why that can be unsettling.
So I wanted to take a moment to share how I handle this as your photographer.
I will ALWAYS ask for your permission as I have been before AI came along when it comes to posting your photos online. Whether you have a newborn, baby, toddler, child, teenager- or even if it's just you- I believe you should have a say in whether your images are shared publicly.
That permission applies to both my social media accounts and website.
If you tell me you do not want your images shared, I will respect that. You want their faces blurred, I will respect that. No questions asked. 🤍
At the same time, I also want to be transparent about why I ask for permission to share. The work I post is huge part of how people find me. It allows potential clients to see my style, the memories I create, and the experience they can invest in. My portfolio is often the first introduction someone has to my work before they ever reach out.
But your memories will always comes first. Your gallery belongs to YOU. My portfolio comes second.
Once you give me permission to share your images, I won't go back and remove photos I've previously posted unless you reach out and ask me to. If your comfort level or circumstances ever change, just talk to me. I will always respect your wishes.
And as a mom myself, I completely understand both decisions. There is no judgement if you want your family phots shared, and absolutely no judgement if you don't.
You pay me to capture these memories for you and your family first. Being able to share them and use them as part of my portfolio is a privilege-not an entitlement.
So whether your answer is "yes, I'd love for you to share them" or "no, please keep them just for us," both are completely okay with me. 🤍
Your family. Your memories. Your choice. Always💛
