Senior photos on our land were breathtaking in the evening light.

The frogs began to sing their summertime song and the setting sun was casting rays of golden light onto the amber colored fields.

Elsie made taking beautiful photos simple and was such a joy to capture.

Our fall garden in the ozarks reaped a bountiful harvest this year. Radish, cabbage, collard 🥬 greens (so many varieties of kale), butternut squash for days… and what would have been carrots… 🥕

Did I mention we got a Catahoula that absolutely loves to dig? We are building a beautiful cedar fence right now. More on that soon…

Mama’s choice of outfits made these mesh so well and added a vintage touch, in my opinion. Styling is everything and she really pulled it off. Impressed. 👌🏻

Family portraits on our new property in the Ozarks. It has been such a glowy, beautiful fall in the hills. I dragged my tripod from the garage to this field…

My precious toddler wasn’t having it. Can anyone relate? She was shrieking in resistance. I said “okay! Candid photos it is.”

Every single face she made was one of utter refusal to cooperate.

After about 20 minutes, she decided to smile a bit as we were more playful and relaxed. Listen, if a kid knows you are desperate for them to smile for photos, they absolutely will be the most obstinate because they CAN.

I’ve stopped saying “look at the camera!” And engaged instead as if nothing was even there.

And that’s when the magic happens, my friends…

A field blanketed with thistles in the Ozarks. This is what life has looked like for us lately and I am so deeply grateful for every detail.

Last night, we stood outside gazing at the wide open, starry night sky as two owls “hoo hoo…hooHOO!’d”at eachother.

In between the flirting owls, a pack of coyotes howled in the rolling cattle fields adjacent to our land.

I made an attempt to record the owls communicating, but the screaming song of the cicadas echoed too loudly for us to even hear one another talking.

This photo reflects our new journey so well… golden rays of sunshine, wildflowers showing off Gods glory and hearts beaming with gratitude.

Every day is a gift.
