Hello, lovely friends and family! A few of you know already, my family is expecting baby #3 at the end of May. It’s been a rocky pregnancy this go around, so I’ve already been referring some of you to my super talented photographer friends in the area. As much as this hurts my heart and I might lose some of you, I feel it’s important for me to take some personal time throughout 2023. This is not goodbye, just a little hiatus and I promise to see you all again in 2024! Thank you for your ongoing love, support and understanding. xo, -m

No matter how much I say I love you, I will always love you more than that. ✨

Much more. I actually gave my mom a tearful apology after I had my oldest. I told her that I had no clue she loved me “this“ much. A love too raw to explain, but a— I’d jump into fire for you—kind of love.

Every year it was MY BIRTHDAY. I never really thought about my mom or parents, or what they went through on that day. Once I became a parent, I really realized it was their day, not mine. But, that’s what you do as a parent. You become selfless and try to create this beautiful, magical world for your little ones. It’s not always perfect or the way you envisioned it at times, but you try. You try really hard, and hope that they become good humans who appreciate the life you’ve given them.

Happy birthday, Aria June. Even though mom deserves a spa day, this is your day. And, I truly love you more than you know.

I’ve had this lovely family on my mind since the shooting yesterday. I’m so glad Ali is safe and can go home to her babies, but many families can’t say the same. My heart goes out to all of the families and friends affected by this horrible tragedy. No one should have to go through something like this— this kind of hurt. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

A full session will also be donated at James’s Memorial event at Milwaukee Brat House. Plus I’ll be giving out a billion hugs, so come out and support a beloved friend and our community. See you tonight! ✨

The event takes place Monday, Dec. 30 at the Milwaukee Brat House - where Hanson worked - from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Dozens of Milwaukee bartenders volunteered to take shifts to play $3 dice games.

I kind of had a revelation tonight. I really got into photography because I loved to edit. I used to edit photos for friends and family early on (ones not taken by me) because I had access to Photoshop. I loved sitting and editing. I still do. But, man, I’d sit there for hours. I didn’t care what it was...I just knew it looked way better after I was done with it. I actually mentioned to a photographer friend (who is amazingly talented— ) that I’m only good at being a photographer because I know how to edit. I don’t know if that’s a skill or I’m just killing myself with editing time. All I know is that I have this feeling of completeness when I’m done. A final, beautiful product. ♥️ I’m a detail editor and if you want to see a little before and after, I’m going to share it in a bit on my IG stories. Xo! *

“Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.” This quote really stuck with me today. I’m like everyone else. Some days I feel like I just can’t get it right. Then there’s a little pocket of laughter and all seems right. Perfection doesn’t exist. We’re all trying to do our best. Try to hold on to those little moments that fill you up. ♥️
