"The softest parts of my story leave me open to being seen or being crushed."

That's the razor's edge vulnerability lives on. He knows it — you can see it in that gaze, steady and guarded at the same time. To let someone in is to hand them something they could break.
Most men choose the armor. He chose the camera.

#25 | Masculinity and the Hunger to be Known

"What would it feel like to let go and surrender to the moment as is, as I am?"

Hand over heart. Eyes closed. Not performing stillness — actually finding it. For most men, that question alone is a lifetime of work.
This might be the bravest image in the series.

"What is a journey without hills and valleys? I am tired and broken but keep moving forward."

That quiet says everything. Hands folded, eyes cast down, the weight of it visible in every line of his body. This isn't defeat — it's endurance. The kind most men carry alone, in silence, never naming it out loud.
He named it.

"Everything I do is to be perfect. It's destroying me."

Six words that so many men have never said out loud. The body held tight, arms wrapped around himself — protection and performance at the same time. There's no armor here, just the exhausting weight of a standard no one can meet.

This is what the mask costs.

#21 | Masculinity and the Hunger to be Known

"To be seen for who you really are is to be loved."
There's a vulnerability in that stance — not weakness, something braver than that. He's not performing. He's just there, present, asking the oldest human question: Do you see me?

That's the hunger this whole series is about.

#19 | Masculinity and the Hunger to be Known

"My masculinity is a moving target requiring frequent updates and revisions."

That right there is wisdom — and courage. Most men never say it out loud, let alone live it. The hands mid-gesture, the eyes wide open, the words still forming. This is what self-awareness looks like in real time.

#18 | Masculinity and the Hunger to be Known

"Some things really are worth fighting for; and I, for one, choose to fight..."

There's a particular kind of strength that doesn't announce itself. It lives in the set of a jaw, the steadiness of eyes that have seen hard things and haven't looked away.

Masculinity and the hunger to be known #17

"When I look at masculinity as an art form, it changes the way you express yourself completely."

Yes. Exactly this.

Masculinity and the Hugner to be Known #16

"Masculinity is more responsibility. I wish I had more freedom."

He said it quietly. No drama. Just truth.
This series asks men one question about masculinity — and then gets out of the way.

Masculinity and the Hunger to be Known #15

"It is as though there is nothing I want more than the approval of others — and nothing I need more than the approval of myself."

That tension. Most men carry it their whole lives without ever naming it. He named it.
