Every year we’re looking for ways to improve, get more creative, and take these shoots to the next level — and we’re loving how these team shots are turning out! 🔥

LADY BRUINS CLAIM FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON

The Lady Bruins earned their first win of the season Tuesday evening with a convincing 6-0 victory over North Valley.

#24 Kaiya Evens led the Bruins offensively, recording a hat trick with three goals. Sawyer Adams added two goals of her own, while Ellie Hanneman got the Bruins on the board with the opening goal of the match.

The Bruins paired their six-goal offensive performance with a clean sheet on the defensive end to secure their first victory of the year.

The Lady Bruins will now travel to Hidden Valley tomorrow, September 10, for their final non-league match of the season before turning their attention to league play.

⚽ LADY BRUINS AND BULLDOGS FINISH EVEN AT 0-0

The Lady Bruins hosted North Bend yesterday evening in a defensive battle where neither side was able to find the breakthrough.

Goalkeeper Alani Burkman came up with a couple of key saves to keep the Bulldogs off the board, while the Bruins created chances of their own, sending several shots just wide of goal.

After 80 minutes of action, the two sides finished even in a 0-0 draw, with the Lady Bruins recording the clean sheet at home.

UP NEXT: The Lady Bruins are back at home on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 3:00 PM when they host North Valley, followed by the Bruins boys taking on St. Mary’s.

⚽ BRUINS BATTLE MUSTANGS TO SCORELESS DRAW

The Bruins traveled to Hidden Valley Tuesday afternoon for a non-league matchup with the Mustangs, where the two sides battled to a 0-0 draw.

Hidden Valley created several opportunities in the first half, putting multiple shots on target. Goalkeeper Josh Martyn came up with key saves, while the crossbar provided some additional help as the Bruins kept the Mustangs off the board. Martyn finished the afternoon with the first clean sheet of his varsity career.

Brookings-Harbor responded with a strong second half, controlling possession and creating a handful of scoring opportunities. The Bruins put multiple shots on goal and struck the crossbar several times, but saves from the Hidden Valley goalkeeper kept them from finding the back of the net.

Neither side was able to break through before the final whistle, sending the Bruins home with a 0-0 draw.

The Bruins now turn their attention to their home opener Tuesday, September 8, when they host St. Mary’s.

🏈 BRUINS WIN HOME OPENER, 35-12

Brookings-Harbor opened its home schedule with a 35-12 victory over Gold Beach on Friday night, using a dominant second half to pull away.

Gold Beach capitalized on an early Bruins turnover to take a 6-0 lead, but Brookings-Harbor answered with a touchdown run from Kaedin Socia ( #9) and the PAT to go ahead 7-6.

The Bruins defense provided a huge momentum swing in the second quarter when Grady Maylin ( #12) scooped up a Gold Beach fumble and took it to the house. Gold Beach answered late, sending the Bruins into halftime with a narrow 13-12 lead.

Brookings-Harbor took control after the break.

Henry Austin ( #24) scored on the ground and added the two-point conversion before Owen Austin ( #10) broke free for another rushing touchdown. Elias Haro ( #1) added the final Bruins touchdown in the fourth quarter to make it 35-12.

Owen Austin then picked off Gold Beach on its very next offensive play, helping seal the win.

The Bruins outscored Gold Beach 22-0 in the second half to secure the home-opening victory.

📍 NEXT UP: The Bruins travel to Rogue River on Friday, Sept. 4.

Bruin Soccer is counting down the days until we officially kick off the 2026 campaign under a new coaching staff!

With 20+ players putting in the work this preseason, this group is hungry, improving every day, and ready to represent Brookings-Harbor this fall. Now we’re ready for YOUR support! 🙌

📍 This Thursday: We head to Coos Bay for a few shortened preseason games to get things rolling.

🔥 September 1: The season officially begins on the road against Hidden Valley.

🏠 September 8: We’re back home for our HOME OPENER vs. St. Mary’s! We want to see the stands packed!

We’re excited for what this season has in store and can’t wait to have our community behind us every step of the way. See you on the pitch! ⚽️🐻

Congratulations to the Brookings-Harbor Class of 2026! 🎓

Thank you to Brookings-Harbor High School for allowing FV Media to be a part of this special day once again. It was an honor to capture the memories and celebrate this milestone with all of the graduates, families, and staff.
