Of all my memories in NYC, this is toward the top of the list of those I hold dear. This kind and generous person named Bulan asked if he could take my photo, and told me a bit of his story as he did. Sandwiched between Christie and Bowery in NOLITA you will find the very small but vibrant Freeman Alley. Filled with street art of all varieties your eye is drawn to the end of the alley, where two heavy blue wooden doors sit. During business hours, you’ll find the aptly named Freeman’s restaurant serving up rustic American dishes and leaning fully into their Colonial-era location with odd and antique decor. I’ll be back on a day they’re open, but for now enjoy some of the art!
