Ladman Studios

Ladman Studios Intentional story driven photography for couples who proof it mattered. I'm not gonna lie, growing up I had zero interest in photography.

The burger loving, game slaying, air guitar playing, energetic extrovert with an animated personality who uses swearing and sarcasm as sentence garnish. I was more about video games and MTG. It wasn't until two combat deployments and raising a family of my own that I understood how important the role of photography plays in our lives. Time is our most valuable asset, you use it or you lose it. To

me, photography is the only way to ensure every meaningful moment will be there when you need them the most. "IT'S MORE IMPORTANT TO CLICK WITH PEOPLE THAN TO CLICK THE SHUTTER. " - ALFRED EISENSTAEDT

You need a friend-tographer in the room you can feel comfortable around all day and trust. Not someone who
only sees you as their next paycheck. Whether you're a pair of hopeless romantics, die-hard nerds, or just looking to have a little fun and celebrate, I take the time to get to know you and your vision for your wedding day so that together, we can deliver a story that truly represents your love, history, and connection. My approach, while both candid and intentional, will bring you right back to this day, ensuring your moments are raw, real, and unapologetically you! I CONNECT WITH COUPLES WHO ARE:

Wildly in love, fun, & laid back
Kind hearted souls
Gamers, nerds, & geeks
Lovers of cinema
Automatic door opening Jedi's
Fluent in pop-culture references
Love photos you can feel
Embrace the imperfect
Outdoor adventurists
Musically Empathetic

Some weddings you photograph. Others you live alongside the couple.

Terrance and Emma’s day at The Society Room in Hartford was the second kind.

I walked into the getting-ready room at The Sea Tea Comedy Theater and Emma was transferring her vows into her vow book. Moments later Terrence joined her as they both shared the couch. Using a Dead by Daylight board game box as a writing table.

Y’all, if you’re not getting ready together in the morning…you not fully living your day!

Zero nerves and all the love.

This is what I mean when I talk about live your day. They didn’t manage the wedding. They were in it. They trusted their people, their vendors, and the day itself.

Real is always going to be better than perfect.

Your wedding day is going to feel rushed. And it’s not the day’s fault.

There’s a version of your wedding day already playing in your head.

You. Your partner. Your people. Music you actually want to hear.

A day that feels like your life. Just dialed up to 11.

Then there’s the other version.
The one where you spend the whole day following someone else’s directions.

Every time something real starts, someone taps your shoulder.

And by the end of the night you realize you spent the whole day being pulled out of moments.

Not actually living them.
Allow me explain how it gets that way.

Most wedding photography is built around a shot list. Not craft.

Which means the photographer shows up with a spreadsheet of images they need to collect.

And your day gets arranged around that spreadsheet.

Your day. Arranged around a spreadsheet.

What you get back is a gallery of two people behaving like they’re being photographed.

Not two people living through the biggest day of their lives.

The moment is the whole point.
Not a photographer in your face every 30 minutes going “stand here, now here, chin down.”

The way your mom holds back tears during your vows. That’s the photo. Not a random ass field at sunset.
You should be AT your wedding.

Not getting pulled out of it.

I want you to FEEL your wedding. Not just look at it later and remember posing for it.

Most Connecticut wedding photography sites use the same words: candid, documentary, unposed, story-driven.

What almost none of them explain is what that actually means for your wedding day.

This article breaks down:

What documentary wedding photography really is (and isn’t)

Why it fits CT weddings in particular (multi-location days, traffic, barns, estates)

How portraits and family formals work without turning your day into a photo shoot

Simple ways to tell if this approach is actually a fit for you

If you care more about remembering being at your wedding than remembering how many times you posed for the camera, this guide is for you.

You are not planning a photo shoot. You are planning a wedding.

Your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot. It is loud, a little chaotic, and completely lived in day.

And that’s exactly how I photograph it.

I blend in with your people and quietly document the in‑between moments that feel like you, so your gallery looks like a story, not a checklist of poses.

Documentary wedding photography for couples who care more about presence than perfection.
