Join us on July 23rd for a hands-on, half-day LIGHTING WORKSHOP in Manchester, New Hampshire at The Venues at The Factory 🔆

We’ve partnered with wedding designer Champagne & Confetti: Celebrations by Catalina to reconstruct the beauty (and chaos!) of a real indoor wedding so we can teach lighting LIVE, in real time. We’ll move through each phase of the wedding day from getting ready to the dance floor, making every decision out loud so you can understand our thinking, then allow you the opportunity to try it out yourself!

We hope that by the end of the day, you’ll not only feel more confident about lighting indoor events but that you’ll also conceptualize lighting totally differently: as an intentional and creative tool for storytelling, not just a necessity you use when it’s too dark to photograph otherwise.

This course will combine both continuous lighting and flash and is best for photographers who already have some basic knowledge of how to use their flash both on and off camera.

Bring your camera, flash, and an off-camera trigger and play around with our go-to setups for continuous lighting as well!

We try our best to begin every wedding without a camera in our hands. We say hello to your people and introduce ourselves to your mom. We sit next your uncle at the bar and look through the photos in the album left on the table.

We make our best work when we allow ourselves the space and time to experience the day alongside you.

We make our best work when we are allowed to wander, play, and feel our way through.

We make our best work when we forget that adulthood (and social media) has taught us to act differently in front of a camera.

We make our best work from the inside. And I hope that by putting our cameras down from time to time we can make it all feel a bit more integrated – instead of like you ever need to perform for the sake of a photo.

I think what I am trying to say is that a wedding doesn’t need a photographer at all, although we are honored to be here.

Or maybe I am trying to say that this wedding felt different in the best way for all of the above reasons.

Anyway, I love these photos.
